I don't think Braylon could have been tendered...even if the Jets weren't interested in bringing him back it would have been reckless to not tender him at at least the 2nd round level.
I don't understand how the Eagles are in a better position to win a Superbowl. We made it to the AFC Championship games two years in a row. With the aso/revis duo we would have been sure favorites to get there again. I'am not necessarily mad at Tanny for waiting. Having the possibility of the best CB duo in the games history is something worth running after.
Roth has to come here. If not then who the fuck is going to be OLB depth? Taylor could return, but he's ancient. Trader Mike isn't done. I just hope they don't hand a fat contract to Cro and then we watch him take that stupid leap back when he's supposed to jam the damn receiver at the line.
the eagles have added talent we have subtracted talent i dont think its a wild claim that they are better bet to win the SB then us.
If Rex & Tanny & Woody don't think bringing Braylon back at the price he is looking for is the right move - I'm fine with that. Edwards is a good ball player but there are other options that may be good too.
He kept doing that until the postseason. Save for that Garcon touchdown I don't recall him getting beat that badly in the postseason and I'm sure it had to do with him playing closer to the LOS
my biggest concern in all of this was that we would give Cromartie big money, and then he would absolutely dog it ala rickey henderson. To me, not only is he not worth huge top CB dollar, but im not sure i trust him to earn that money. its one of the reasons i was excited we were going after nnamdi, and why i wanted joseph.... the texans made the move we should have... pulled out of the nnamdi stuff and signed joesph/landry
injuries are always a factor for all 32 teams. you cant factor that in, unless you are referring to someone coming off injury/surgery.
I don't think its necissarily about the Jets not being good enough. They, like the Eagles, are contenders. However, the NFC presents an easier road to the big game as the AFC is stacked.
It's pretty much what I thought. The Jets are going to make Cro the top priority because of Rex. Rex needs cover corners to play defense the way he wants to play it. There are Cheaper versions of Braylon (Floyd, Moss) out there on the market. Chris Carr is nice in theory but he's really more of a slot corner, not an established #2.
Can people wait until the FA period is over before crying?.. No one knows shit about what the Jets are going to do.
Its not a wild claim at all. It's reasonable. But looking at the last two years as a body of work, we had the upper hand.
They still have no running game, a pathetic goalline/short yardage offense and Vick will be hurt by week 3. Aso made it personal.
I can't remember the last time a high profile NFL player was cut/traded three times in one season. Why would any fan want anything to do with this jerk? I'd rather have a toothache than Moss on the Jets. Sign Floyd or Jones and let's move on. I'm far more worried about the CB situation. Wilson cannot cover the deep ball and the Jets have, what - three corners on the roster? If the Jets don't get one of Cro both Carrs or Marshall, this is going to be a step back this year.
last years body of work doesnt mean much if we arent returning that team. they lost to the SB champs last year, and have added the best defensive player on the market.
santonio10 Santonio Holmes Good morning NY/NJ Jets fans. On the way to putting it in writing. X_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ . Tone Time!
No matter how you slant it, Aso likes the Philly team much better. It's written all over the place today.
