You are so wrong. Since when did Jets shy away from players with history of media attention?

If the Jets don't want Braylon back, then there was clearly something we didn't know about. Maybe he partied too much and they are afraid of another DUI or alcohol incident, maybe he didn't get along with some players- I have no idea, and nobody on this forum does either. Braylon is a very good NFL WR, but the fact that no one has signed him yet and the Jets have shown no interest worries me a little. I trust Tanny's opinion on Edwards, whether he decides to bring him back or not.

yeah with what you heard a couple players say and how they are treating him there must be something that the public doesnt know. then again thats why cleveland got rid of him

Have any Jets players said anything? I have been busy and haven't followed all of these stories as much as I would have liked.

I personally think it's simpler than all that. It comes down to money. Santonio Holmes was widely considered a better all-around WR than Braylon (rightfully or wrongfully). Teams are simply unconvinced Braylon is worth his asking price.

Maybe I'm totally wrong, maybe I'm partially wrong.

I just don't think it makes sense that it's because of the money... they would at least have talked to him --> "jets talked to BE, but no agreements were reached" or something like that.

Jets so far have ignored BE who has talked many times about that home discount etc.

So I don't think is money (despite being the official version).
Talent is out of the question.
Cap space? there was room to fit Aso and Sanchez hasn't restructured his contract, so cap space is not neither.

There has to be something more. My guess is that he did something that pissed off Woody and he "banned" him.
Something like Iggy and Petro here in tgg.
Petro not always intervenes, but when he does, there's nothing you can do about it.

And probably it wasn't so terrible. Probably it was just in a really bad timing.
Probably that DUI for whatever reason embarrassed Woody more than it should. Probably it was something else that we don't know.

I don't know, I'm just saying that to me it makes more sense that Braylon never was an option because of a straight order from the boss than "we're just not too interested in one of our most valuable guys of the last couple of seasons".

^ I suspect the last driving incident is the culprit here. Braylon owns this as he should have known better than to get into ANY trouble period. That's why no teams have really made a run at him as they don't think he can handle his business off the field.

I would truly be surprised if it were any other reason why the Jets don't want him back. Can't be the money as they had the cash for Aso.

yea... it really pisses me off, and i cant get over it. the other WR options just dont make sense compared to edwards.

and when your are as close to a SB as we are, you should be do everything to bring back the guys that helped get you there

If he has off field issues then he needs to lower his price and make a commitment to a plan of corrective action. if he is not willing to do that - it doesn't make sense to re-sign him. Maybe to a 1 yr deal. but I trust Tanny on this.

I recently watched both playoff wins and Edwards was terrific in those games.

You gotta figure the Eagles must be serious players for Braylon at this point too with DJackson unhappy. They're players for Plaxico right, why not Braylon? Maybe they sign Braylon and trade DJackson out of the conference...nothing would surprise me.

I don't understand who in their right mind would even want Plaxico over Braylon (us? WTF?)- he's 6 years younger, played the past two seasons so there's no rusty rhythm. Where the hell is Sanchez in all of this? Braylon made him as good as Holmes did last year.

    what price?

    -We didnt tender him pre-lockout
-no indication of any offer from us
-he seemed to be saying he'd take less to stay here
    -sims-walker signed for peanuts

i dont get where there is anything indicated a huge asking price.

This may be a Woody Johnson call...People dont realize that this is severely bad PR. I think Woody was angry last time Braylon got in trouble. I'd imagine he probably told Tanny this guy should not be back unless he cant find a half decent replacement

We're starting to think Plaxico and forsaking Braylon for a DWI/PR snafu? Seriously?
Plaxico Burress probably did the most idiotic thing an athlete has ever done to get himself not only in legal trouble, but in jail. At least Vick was getting paid for his idiocy. As far as Braylon vs. Plaxico, shooting yourself in the leg with an unlicensed gun in a city that crusades against that very infraction - goes above and beyond simply driving home drunk from your quarterback's party and getting pulled over by cops who are Giants fans. If anything, Sanchez got off easy letting anyone on his team leave his place drunk intending to take even more of his teammates home.
So please god don't give me Woody put his foot down on Braylon. The fucking head coach is an outspoken buffoon with a foot fetish, however successful and beloved.
The quarterback, the coach, the owner, the newly signed jackpot WR should all get on their knees and thank Braylon for playing his fucking heart out every single play, and going after the ball. He was the ultimate professional and teammate last season - they all were which was why we were successful.
AND, he improved 99% on catches - something that has been proven to be a mental thing and not a fundamental thing with talented players with dropsies. His one knock going into last season that he drastically improved on.
The guy's a stud big man entering the prime of his career. We all wanted Aso but Braylon AND Holmes should be the bigger consolation, not Cromartie.

We gave up a 2nd and a 5th for him,you could argue that the 2 years of production he's given us has compensated for the picks.

How are you gonna derail Mark's Progress like this, not many Young QB's have 2 bonifide #1 WR's and a #2 WR being your 3rd WR.

Braylon is a big Target, can get up there for any throw that gets high on Mark, Do the right thing Mr. T
