If we win the next three games, there's still a decent chance we don't even make the playoffs due to Pittsburgh's and Kansas City's easy schedules. Let's just worry about getting a playoff spot first before even thinking of Super Bowls.
Fitzmajick on the phone now with David Copperfield SB in "the bag" We win with mirrors guys! Anyway Rethinking this I think KC s winning ways come to an end through 2 decent opponents: KC at Baltimore this weekend will have me glued to TV (I get Ravens games. Balt could be up for this) Then The Feathered Ones play Oakland ( Raiders on fire)
Well, if we DO make the POs it will require the team to gut out 6 wins in a row, which will mean our team is healthy and on fire. I don't know too many AFC teams that would look forward to playing the 11-5 Jets and their top defense in the POs. Especially teams the need a good running game to be successful.
Three weeks ago it was "Fire Toilet Bowles" now we could be headed to the SB. What a bunch of wacko fans we have.
If we win out and make the playoffs we should be considered a top contender. Finishing the regular season with 6 straight wins and coming off a big win against the pats. We have the team to contend and the pieces are falling into place right now. Just have to take care of business and hope that we get a wild card spot. Steelers are a dangerous team as well.
We need to avoid Denver and Pittsburgh. I don't think we'll move the ball one lick vs. Denver's defense and could end up with a pick 6 or FR for a touchdown. Pittsburgh's spread offense easily neutralizes our biggest strength in playing man coverage and blitzing especially because Roethlisberger can take a beating. They also stop the run well which really sets them up to get into shootouts with teams which we are not prepared for. If we can avoid those two teams by Pittsburgh missing the playoffs and getting that AFC South winner in round one it'd set the stage up for us to play New England in the AFC Championship. Then again we have to win 3 and pray KC loses to a garbage team or Pittsburgh loses to the Osweiler lead Broncos this week. It's going to be tough and frustrating potentially seeing a 7-9 South winning Jaguars get in.
Ah no laddie, ya had to go n' gum up the works didn't ya? If we somehow manage to miss the playoff due to something completely ridiculous on the last play of the season or something of the like. I know which direction I'm looking in first...... All kidding aside we need to see what we do in these last 3 games before we put start getting the party bus ready for California. For me to buy a ticket the Jets are going to need to finish out the season playing complete football whistle to whistle, win or lose. If it is a loss it better be because the other team managed to put out a 99.99999% game to out 99.99% complete game. Frankly, we probably need to win out to hold onto the 6th seed. Somebody else said it in another thread, but this is playoff football starting this week. We should absolutely beat the Cowboys can go in and take down a hurting Patriot team and. what will probably be a dead in the mud Bills team.
I have two tickets to the Super Bowl. I am probably going to sell them to someone from Carolina. But if you tell me the Jets are going to be there. I will change my plans.
No one seems to be talking about the possibility of the Bengals losing out the rest of the way without Dalton (49ers, Broncos, Ravens). Steelers could win the division and the Bengals finish at 10 wins (Chiefs, Steelers and Jets at 11).
Probably because Blaine Gabbert is starting for the 9ers and Jimmy Clausen is starting for the Ravens...The Raven have completely packed it in which screws us so bad.
ugh. This team is good, but they're not going into Pitt, NE, or even Cinci (providing they have Dalton) and winning any playoff games.
I'll say this about that. Let's beat Dallas on Saturday. Come Sunday we sit and watch either the Steelers or KC loose on an upset. Come Monday the whacko Jet fans will change their tunes from "even if we win we might miss the playoffs" to " no way we beat the Pats and the Bills" And life goes on in Jets land. All we can do is control our own destiny. That is all we can hope for and make the team accountable to do. History is not worth mentioning unless we want to repeat it. Go Jets
I get what the OP is saying that all of these teams are vulnerable but getting to the Super Bowl would essentially mean we would have won 9 games in a row with 6 of them on the road...not happening.
This. I meannnn this is a fun thought to have but of course a year where no AFC team is truly dominant (due to injury), we can be poised for a run, yet still not even make it even if we win out. SOJLuck. Not SOJ. There's the difference .
