This. I was mentally prepared for the loss since it was the Steelers but I never expected the game to go bad in the 2nd half. The Jets can bounce back, but can they use this loss and take out all the anger against the Fins?

We shall find out next Sunday

Yeah, I'm not too worried about the Fins. Reggie Bush had a good game but still, the Jets showed they can stop the run when they're not on the field for more than 40 minutes. If the offense can manage to score a few touchdowns, Jets should be fine.

when you play so poorly in every aspect of the game....what do you expect from the fans. I have every right to bitch and moan about this loss.

Yes you do. I guess some of our fan base fell asleep at halftime, just like the team. These sleepyheads tell us we're supposed to praise them for keeping it close and not getting beat 85-0. Same thing will be repeated in two weeks after we clobber the Dolphins then lose in embarrassingly horrific fashion to the 49ers. Don't panic, all is well. Don't panic, all is well. They must not be Jets fans for very long. When I was kid, all is well. Not so much now. I'm tired of it. Today was a kick in the gut, especially after last week. What makes today even worse is that we actually looked halfway decent in the first half.

Oh you mean the Cardinals that just beat a good team on the road? Why can't we do that?

As for some in our fan base that want to blow it up, well maybe they're right? You're either building a Super Bowl contending team or not. Too many holes in key positions with this team, starting with the QB.

I dunno maybe we watched different games today. The Jets played the Steelers tough today? How so? Mark Sanchez had a dreadful day, nobody on defense could wrap Rapistburger up, the D-backs got burned over and over again, the Steelers had a 10-plus-minute drive when the Jets really really needed to stop them, and even in garbage time the Jets couldn't complete a damn pass...

We played them tough??? Aheh! How so?

The Jets were within striking distance for most of the game. The defense played well enough to keep the game close but neither the offense or special teams could generate any points.

It wasn't like the Steelers destroyed the Jets. The score was Steelers 20-Jets 10 throughout the majority of the game, if the Jets could have generated at keast two scoring drives then this is a different game.

When their O line SUCKS, their corners are suspect AND they were missing Mendenhall, Harrison AND Polomalu, yes.. There is shame in losing to the Steelers.

Nobody got Cards making the playoffs. Everybody got Pats and Steelers making it. So yeah we should panic over one game just like the Pats should also.

Sanchez wasn't the same after taking that helmet to helmet hit. He was decisive, accurate and moving the ball well before that.

The problem I have with this loss is I feel this is not a great Steeler team but a good team that is very well coached , and although we were missing Revis they were missing their 2 best players on defense. I thought we could win this game and to watch how it played out was painful,,,the penalties were horrible and the muffed punt killed us along with them converting a 3 rd and 16 into a hail Mary td that Cromartie still can't find,,,,ugh.
For me I look at it this way ,,,if we really are a playoff team then games like this decide if you are playing Pitt at MetLife in January or are you going to have to Come back to Heinz field in January,,,,,,this was a big loss

Last year in the season opener, the Giants D looked horrible against the Redskins. Eli didn't have a great game either. Point is, you can't base everything off of one game. Especially when the team you're playing has a hall of fame coach, QB, and defensive coordinator.

But that's where you are wrong. You say we played poorly in every aspect of the game, but there were many good things that came out of this.

    1. Sanchez looked very good yet again. He made smart throws, a few overthrown, but he gave 0 turnovers. Made smart decisions and hit the receivers in the hands. If not for all the drops, he would have again, had an excellent game.

    2. We held them to 66 yards and 2.4 ypc. That's phenomenal if you ask me.

    3. We put pressure on Ben many many times. Yes, there were many missed tackles, but we're talking about Ben Roethlisberger here. If there is one guy in the NFL who can escape anything, it's him.

    4. Powell showed some great signs of improvement. Should have had more carries, but with his limited amount, he really looked good.

    5. Offensive line played very good yet again. Let up just 1 sack.

We did not play poorly in EVERY aspect of this game. Everything we did wrong, can and will be fixed. Receivers dropped passes, Keller was out, Revis was out, McKnight dropped the punt, etc.. People need to lighten up. Like what was stated above me, there are many worse outcomes that could have happen and we could be in a completely different situation right now, but we are tied for the lead in the division, along with everyone else. Lost to a great Steelers team on their turf. Nothing to be worrying about quite yet

This exactly. Losing on the road to the Steelers is what 80% of teams do. It's never an easy task and it's made that much more difficult when your best defensive weapon is down.

Steelers games absolutely drive me nuts though. Every time they play against Ben we as fans are bound to see him escape three or four no-doubt sacks that turn into big plays. Guy's a fucking monster.

the rationalizing that comes out after a loss around here is entertaining. now all of a sudden the steelers are a very good team - but in the days leading up to the game they weren't the steelers of old, there defense is old, no harrison, etc etc....

not gonna get crazy here but IMO this game personifies the jets over many a years. just not making the plays that give u the W - against a playoff caliber team.

its a dang shame because the pats may be staring at 1-2 after next week and it would have been nice to be playing for 3-0.
