Finally Chad is gone. This is the NFL, we judge people on how they play not there personalities. Chad may have been a great hardworking guy and i give him all the respect for that but when it comes to football that just wasn't his forte.

I don't. I actually believe that Clemens was ahead. Remember, he also wasa throwing more touchdowns and making more big plays than Pennington in addition to the picks.

I think if you have a real opportunity to get a top 5 QB in the NFL you take it.

I also think that this is not the end of Clemens. In fact I think this move helps him become the QB of our future. Clemens and Pennington were completely opposite QBs, but now Clemens can learn a year or two from a QB very very similar to him and the offense will gradually move to emphasize the skills Brett and Kellen have.

It was a group move by the Jets FO, even if slightly motivated by PSLs.

I will not miss Pennington at all. As big an addition as Favre is, it is as big of an addition in the subtraction of Pennington and finally getting him away from this team.

As far as Chad fans being different from Jets fans, that may be true but it's true with Vilma right. We're all rooting for Vilma this year so why can't people root for Pennington with his new team? Some of us feel Chad was screwed, because he finally has an o-line and now just got cut out. He's the most classy and respectful player I know in the NFL and wherever he goes I'll be rooting for him to start and kick ass.

Where in this thread did I say that? Right. I didn't.

So let me guess. You're one the of the 'fans' who cheered when Pennington limped off the field with an ankle injury last September but won't admit it in broad daylight. And whether or not Chad was on or off the field, what exactly solved the debacle of what was wrong with the ENTIRE picture last year...?

Favre can get injured in Week 1 for all we know, and then it's go Kellen!; but however it turns out, hats off to the FO for making the trade happen. It shows we mean business, yes? To say that having Chad be the starter was "dividing the fanbase", how does that thought even have anything remotely to do with decisions the FRONT OFFICE does or doesn't make? Last time I checked, I don't make team decisions, neither do you, and neither do the rest of us.

Did I really have to spell it out in detail what I meant by 'mixed'? I reckon so...GO THUNDERING HERD! WOOOOO! [IMG]

And P.S.: I'm with you, boomer. No reason to disrespect Chad. The writing has been on the wall for a long time, but I've never seen any reason to spit on my own floor while I'm cleaning my own house. I'm sure you can wrap your mind around the metaphor if you try hard enough, Big Blocker.

If you said New York jets you would be correct. I would never root against us under any circumstances. I still hope NE and/or Baltimore lose and we beat Miami but I can't say I feel as confident about our playoff chances as I would if we didn't have to rely on other teams to lose and if we were actually playing decent football.

I'll tell you what I told junc. The only game that matters at all is the game next week. If he loses that game he is the same bum we threw out of town when the season began. The one who could never win the game that mattered most.

Don, the Dolphins won ONE fucking game last year. ONE, my man.

If Chad doesn't get cut, we're rolling with Josh McCown at QB to start the season, and then possibly throwing Chad Henne into the fire come week 4. Bill/Sparano have done a great job, but this team prolly wins 5 games top without Chad.

The Dolphins in week 16, at 10-5, and leading the AFC East. Yes, a lost next week in the big would be a let down. But this season has still been incredible. And the main reason has been Chad and how incredibly efficient he's been.

The sad, pathetic thing is, if you look at all nyjunc's posts this last day it almost seems like he's happier to be able to say "I told you so!" than he would be if we'd won.

IMO this "fan" is only a fan of himself, not the team ...

And the Jets won 4? So what? If you had the same GM and the same coaching staff this year that you had last year you would have won 2 this year. Again, so what? And the main reason isn't even close to being Chad. It's Parcells. Just like it is everywhere else he has ever gone.

The way Jet fans treated James Chadwick Pennington was despicable and I'm glad he found a team that will support him. Its shameful that a turd like Mangini gets more support from Jet fans than Penny did, he is the classiest pro athlete of his era.
