Haha yeah, I used to get them confused a while back until I got used to their differing posting styles.
I think we're all sick and tired of the Pennington tossers... please, shut the fuck up! I'm tired of these statistical inaccuracies and baseless statements. Favre is one of the greatest 10 QBs (probably greatest 5) of all time! period, end of story, there is no debating that. It is a fact, fact, fact ,fact... fact. Pennington is a good QB and he has his own strengths. I'm not gonna go into detail over why he's not IMO as good as Brett. That would be pointless and I don't want to bash Chad. He's not a bad QB. But I doubt he'll end up in the hall of fame, win 3 MVP awards, get runner-up MVP when he's 37, or win a SB anytime soon... no matter what team he's on. Granted, past performance and no gaurantee for future performance, but you don't have to go too far back to see him perform at an elite level... say all of 2007... or just this last game. Seriously, you need to let Pennington go. He's no longer a Jet. Favre is QB now whether you like it or not. You're love for Pennington is clouding your judgement, and down deep you probably want Favre and your Jets to fail so you can do a big "I told you so". If history tells you anything it's this... never bet against Favre.
Green Bay management knows Brett better than anybody? So, you're saying that GB management just knew that Favre was all washed up after his runner-up MVP performance last year, had no gas in the tank, and that was their reason for dumping him? You're giving a lot of credit to a third year coach and egotistical GM who were so smart that they're leading a team that has already has a banged up starter and has a 7th round first year rookie QB to back him up. Buyer beware my ass! $100 says the Jets have better year than the Packers.
You may be right with that prediction. GB defenders are dropping like flies and their offensive line is struggling. IMO the Packers parted ways with Favre for 2 reasons: 1) spite 2) they're playing the percentages that a soon to be 39 year old QB is not going to hold up physically. normally #2 is not a bad reason to go in the direction they have chosen, but Favre is no ordinary QB.
I totally agree. I think it was more about Ted Thompson putting his stamp on the team then about which QB provided the best chances of winning games now. Hello! no GM would take any unproved (no matter how talented) over a proven QB who just came off of a MVP caliber year, unless there were some personal emotions involved. Two-three months go by and they have all of the excuses they need - they've moved on. Stupidest decision in NFL history!
Well, you'll have to read further back in the thread to get this, but this just in from my rabid Jets fan friend, Vinnie: "Well, Yom Kippur came and went and we still have a shot at this thing. Next goal: Halloween..." I have to call him. He doesn't know I crashed my car yet. Damn it all.
I luved pennington, but to even put him in the same sentence as favre is so wrong. All time great against a servicable QB
I heard that while Pennington was down in Florida, he invited Favre to come do some fishing with... doh... I put him in the same sentence! I'm going to hell. :breakdance:
Yeah, they are only QBs in the same division who play against each other and all the same teams, Pennington is 2-1 in games vs Favre, Favre replaced Pennington, but let's not use them in the same sentence. It's wrong.
Yeah... guaranteed to toss a pick at the worst opportune time. Sorry, just messin' with ya... Wait, I meant Pennington. Damn. They're similar in more ways than one. Never mind.
Are you going to Honestly tell me you think we would be better off with Chad? Has Chad even hit a Wr for a T/D this season? One is going to the Hof the other is not. Lets not use them in the same sentence. One threw more T/D's in one game than the other has this season. But please do not compare the two.
I dont think we would be better off with Chad right now. And I dont think Chad is worse off in Miami. Truth is, Miami is using Chad more effectively then we would have. We might (I said might) have been better off in the long run with Kellen or Ratliff starting this year. We are delaying the inevitable for these two. Farve is not our franchise QB of the future. IMHO - if we dont win the SB or at least go to the conference championship then the Farve deal was just a side show that slowed our development.
Show me where I ever said that, I didn't. What difference does it make who scores a TD, as long as it is scored? Stats are for losers and fantasy geeks. Again, why not? One replaced the other, both are QBs now in the same division, both are even from the south. Comparing them is pretty normal, actually. Why is it you only show up here when Chad's name comes up? You're hardly ever here now that he's gone but you always surface in these threads? I'm convinced he ran over your cat or something.
