Pennington Named AFC Offensive Player of the Week

Sorry if this was posted but I didn't see it anywhere.

New York Jets head coach Eric Mangini announced Wednesday that quarterback Chad Pennington was named the AFC's Offensive Player of the Week. Pennington was brilliant Sunday, completing 24 of 33 passes for 319 yards and two touchdowns in the Jets’ 23-16 season-opening win over the Tennessee Titans. For his performance, Pennington is also a candidate for NFL FedEx Player of the Week.

O yer fuck this is awesome!!! I feel great for chad.

Also i hate it when people call others chad haters as obviously no one hates him if they are on this site right. Also why would any jets fan wish that chad would fuck up for the team??? Not a good one

Congrats to Chad! He deserves it. This should make his spirits higher then they already were, and same goes for the whole team. It's good to see Chad actually getting recognition.

There are at least a handful of Jet fans that have been hating on Chad pretty hard. Happens though when you lose confidence in a guy. I'm still skeptical he can remain healthy. That is something we just won't know until we go a ways down the road. You have to hold your breath everytime he takes a hit.

While I can't say I expected Offensive Player of the Week in week 1, I can say that I did not doubt that he could return to the his pre-injury 2002-2004 form and it appears that he has.

Too many people on this board just forgot what Pennington was all about and were left with visions of KC and Jacksonville from last year instead of the SD playoff game, the clutch drives in early 2004, the comebacks in 2003 and the great year in 2002.
