This is sarcasm, right? You can't possibly be serious about this...an obligation to stay healthy? It can't be willed, especially when you're talking about bones and tendons snapping. He's not exactly Favreini as far as durability goes but it sure wasn't for lack of trying. This is the same Chad that played through a torn rotator cuff at the end of the '04 season trying to get us a Super Bowl. It is too bad it has to end this way, I doubt even he'll have a third miracle comeback.
Why not? It's not like Clemens is coming back. A good backup QB is a veteran who can be counted on to come in and manage a game, and hopefully improve the starter's game with his strong understanding of what's happening on the field. Sounds like Pennington would be a nice fit to me, provided that he's healthy enough.
I like Chad, always have. I loved Vinny always will. Joe had my heart for years. I feel bad when any former player that gave it their all while wearing the green and white gets hurt. The ones that left because they were greedy is another story.
only if chad was the Jets QB. this is a new regime, a new attitude, a new culture. its someone else's problem - the fins.
I like chad, he was always a great leader who could of been probably one of the best quarterbacks in the league at this point if he never got hurt, but he was a piece of glass. However i wanted to play him this year just because i wanted to absolute bombard him with this defense just cause we can, nothing against him. So i guess were gunning for Henne now or Pat white. Anyway this thread reminds me of someone remembering their old g/f and getting pissed about it when they have a fresh new younger one right in front of them!
It is absolutely an obligation to your team; leader? warrior? heart? Bullshit; leaders, warriors and players with heart don?t leave their team high and dry TIME AFTER TIME. Want to stay healthy? Try putting some muscle on that gunk body?the fucking guy has had the muscle tone of veil cow since he came to the Jets. His selfishness motivated him to come back; his selfishness caused him to continuously fuck teams over when he had no chance of keeping his flab collection healthy.
It sure doesn't take long for the no-class douchebags who failed gym to all come out of the woodwork and talk shit when someone gets injured.
I hope to god you are drunk or sumthing because this is quite possibly the most selfish thing I've ever read
I feel bad for Chad, he's a good guy, theres no reason to hate him. He gave us all he had every week, and we had some memoral playoff runs with Chad. We can't say that about many New York Jets QBs.
let's see, by your logic, other selfish players in the history of the professional sports who have let their teams down because they got injured repeatedly: Donovan McNabb, Terrel Davis, Gilbert Arenas, Bernard King, Reggie Lewis, Hank Gathers (the selfish SOB couldn't even get his heart strong enough to finish the NCAA tournament when his team had a legit shot at winning the title), Joe Theisman, Pat LaFontaine, and many more. perhaps you are trying too hard to be funny, usually you are hysterical and it seems effortless.
Some of the hate directed toward Chad is because he joined forces with the Dolphins. I for one am happy for the Dolphins current misfortunes but still have that respect for Chad and know how much he gives come gameday.
Rex Ryan may be a rookie head coach but he has been around the game a long time... I would feel sorry for Henne or White if they played for another team but they play for the Phags so fuckem. If Henne or White gave them the best chance to win they would have strated from day 1. Henne is in his 2nd year and couldn't beat out Chad...that doesn't say a whole lot considering year 2 is when "franchise QB's" have the reigns handed over to them. Poor Henne is gonna get masacred in 2 weeks.
chad was always cool, he just wasn't the answer. if he had just 15 percent more arm strength he would have had it all. chad's got heart and he was always dedicated to his craft. he is a pro's pro. there are a lot of talented players that would be much better than they are if they would take a page from chad's book on how he approaches his job.
