"If I had to compare this year's group [to last year's], I think [Carson] Wentz is more talented than either Jameis Winston or Marcus Mariota just in terms of traits...I think Carson Wentz is a high-level traits prospect." -Greg Cossell
Lynch at #20 becomes more likely now. Fine by me, the guy may be raw, but is exactly what we need + haven’t had since Vinnie - A guy that can make all the throws and challenges defenses to cover the entire field.
You can get a guy who is raw, can make all the throws and challenges defense to cover the entire field in the in Day 3.
I hear you (one such guy is Jacoby Brissett), but Lynch is not that raw and his athleticism + arm talent are 1st round worthy. I’ve watched all the games I could on the guy, and at first I think I was where you are now – I was not terribly excited. However the more I’ve watch, the more I’m believing in him. I don’t know if he has it upstairs, but physically, I see a Ben R./Blake Bortles type player.
If you watch Paxton Lynch and all you see if a big guy, then you have your eyes shut. Also saying Blake Bortles (4738 yards and 37 tds in 2015) is a future bust right now is probably an opinion not shared by many.
Has there ever been a QB who progressed in his sophomore season to tune of almost 4,500 yards 35 TDs to 18 INTs (almost a 2:1 ratio) all to ultimately become a bust? I guess it's all downhill from this point.
Bortles is already far from a bust. he took an enormous leap year 2. If Jax can continue team building like they've been, i could see Bortles continue to improve. can make a good comparison of Wentz being a similar prospect to Bortles, maybe with even more upside. Lynch physically reminds me a little of Flacco and Mallett as prospects, although he is more athletic than both. the tough question, which one does he resemble between the ears, and from a character standpoint? hard for us to know. he seems a bit cocky in limited interviews i've seen of him, but it's hard to get a good gauge. if we drafted him, i'd feel good about it, as i know Mac will have done all the background checks and interviews.
one more thing... Bortles (3rd pick) threw 3 of 35 TD's with the lead. He threw 2 of 35 TD's in the first quarter. For comparison Teddy Bridgewater (32nd pick) threw 7 of 16 TD's with the lead and 4 in the first quarter. Derek Carr (36th pick) threw 12 of 32 TD's with the lead and 4 in the first quarter
The post apparently went over your bitchass cornball dumfuck head. See I speak your language too. Now go fellate an assault rifle.
Not cranky at all you just seem like the type that would enjoy sucking off an AK47. Am I wrong motherfucker?
I don't fuck with that commie shit, but thanks for the offer. Its nice to see your Tourette's outburst is winding down.
I think if the Jets want to draft Lynch, they will have to trade up for him now. I think there is a good chance that Goff and Wentz will be the top 2 picks after the big trade.
And with all the other picks falling, who is going to pass up Buckner or Bosa or Stanley? I think Cleveland would rather trade out, Jerry doesn't run the Cowboys anymore, Kelly didn't draft a qb his first year with philly, Philly has 2 qbs that will be well paid next year, Cutler is looking less overpaid... Maybe one of those teams pick Goff, but I sure don't see there being enough of a demand to cause a panic.
Seems as the draft keeps getting closer there's more and more buzz we're going to take this guy. I'm not sure I'm all in but could talk myself into it at 20. Would be a big FU to Geno and Petty's future. I'd rather see Fitz cave in and come back on a reasonable deal but there might be a 25% chance Paxton Lynch is our starting QB next year.
