This happened awhile ago to my phins with a first round pick, Yatil Green. The kid never recovered and while he tried to come back he ended up washing out. It's a shame when a young player's career is cut short. I am a little less sad that it's happening to the Patriots of all people. But I am sorry for the kid.
yeah it sucks for the kid. These guys have dreams, and to be honest, if I got drafted by the pats, even as an avid Jets fan, I would want nothing more than to finish the dream and play in the NFL, and cheering the kids injury is just wrong. That said, the same argument was made last year when Brady got hurt. yeah too bad the guy got hurt, but if it weakens the great machine even a little bit, than no reason to shed a tear.... Besides somebody somewhere had to get hurt, might as well have been the pats...
Nobody's saying "Good, fuck you Tyrone, go fuck yourself, lol." Everybody's saying "Good, fuck you Patriots, go fuck yourself, lol." There's a subtle difference. Schadenfreude, Jcotchrocket's word of the week!
Kids don't play pro football. Jeez, people. What's the count at now- seven posters who used that darn word?
That's better . "Kid" just sounds so fruity when talking about pro football players. McKenzie is a 23-year old man.
Yatil even tried out with the Jets. His knees were so bad it took him ages to get out of bed in the morning and he was still only in his 20s. I hate to think what state he is in now.
Exactly. This is more attacking the Pats than the young man who is injured. Much like Brady last year, you won't get any tears from Jets fans about that one. The exact opposite of when Vinny went down in Game One of 1999.
That's where I am with this. Kid didn't even get his name on a contract, and he's injured. This could be the sort of thing that never lets his career get off the ground.
u guys need to be happy. never cheer for someone to be injured, but fact is Tyrone McKenzie probably wouldve had an impact on the pats THIS YEAR. he played HS ball around my way and excelled at USF. he was a good pick by them, hate to see people get injured but this one actually contributes to our season.
I love all these "Poor baby" statements. If he ain't a Jet, fuck him. I wish Tom Brady's injury was career ending. I don't wish death on anybody, but injury? Absolutely. Hope the rest of that team tears ACLs. Fuck 'em.
Look, I wish the best for McKenzie. Just preferably not as a Pat. Maybe the Pats' staff will think he isn't good enough when he comes back from this, he gets cut and goes somewhere else and performs well. As a Jets fan, I suppose that is the ideal situation.
I'll never cheer or root for injury, especially not for a rookie, unless I truly hate the player. Tom Brady and Rodney Harrison were two on the list. I won't actively root for one of them to get hurt, but if I see Brady's leg snap under Bernard Pollard, I won't shed a tear.
