What kind of fan are you to say that. If the Dolphins lose. WE get New England at home, and another chance at the division. Yes I know it seems like a long shot for us to match them, but a bigger longshot is for New England to go 16-0 again. Have some faith. We are a solid built team with a game manager, bruiser at tailback, and the best Defense in the league.
Take a look at the Pats schedule. Where are the losses coming from? Do you know what kind of longshot it is for the Jets to have any shot of the division by the time we get to face the Pats at home? They are winning 13 games minimum unless Brady goes down for the year. And we arent going 9-1 or better the rest of the way.
Hypothetically a Patriots loss to the Dolphins puts our divisional fate back in our own hands, meaning that if we win every game we win the division. (Tiebreaker # 1, H2H, would be a 1-1 split. Tiebreaker #2, division record. Pats would be 4-2, Jets would be 5-1). Extremely unrealistic but we're back in "control" if they lose a divisional game to Buffalo or Miami.
Dolphins 1) i want the Pats undefeated ball washing to end 2) to win Suh will need to literally eat Br*dy 3) I'm playing br*dy in fantasy this week.
I'm cheering for the Patriots tomorrow as the Dolphins are the more realistic team the Jets will be battling to get into the playoffs. I'd really like to set up 3-4 Miami vs 3-4 Buffalo next week, with one team taking a huge hit going 3-5. The Jets are not going to go 14-2. And if they do go 14-2, why would we worry about playing anyone in the playoffs? Jets would be favored over Cincy, Denver, Colts, etc...
Agree. The problem is, the Patriots are such a fucking machine. They are just so unbelievably consistent. They virtually never lose games they aren't supposed to lose. So, even if we assume, for the sake of argument, that we actually beat them at home in December . . . for us to actually win the division, we realistically can't afford to lose more than 1 other game. (I mean, you figure, at the absolute worst, they are going 13-3 - my money would be on 14-2 or even 15-1)
Hate to say it but the Pats.....we aren't winning the division so we need them to knock Miami back into the Philbin era of losing
Rooting for Miami....Still want a shot at the division with our schedule and we already have a game in hand vs Miami....if we deserve the Wildcard Miami won't overtake us anyway It's only week 8 and injuries happen as well as other weird things...No reason in conceding the division already
It's kind of a nice win-win situation. Of course you root for Miami to knock NE off. That'd be HUGE for our plans of winning the division. But if NE wins, then it's like "Oh well, at least Miami is out of the picture"
I hope this reference isn't lost on you being I'm not a young guy but it's like when Hannibal would shoot BA Baracus with sleeping medicine to get him on an airplane. BA would be going ape shit and next thing you know he's waking up in like fucking Beirut.
