More than one thing can be true, I think. Anderson could be way better at fighting for the ball than he is, including on that play. On the other hand, it was a terrible decision to throw that ball - the best that could have happened was Anderson playing defensive back and preventing the interception. The pass was never going to be completed with that coverage.

    1) Picked up Flag on Anderson
    2) Dropped INT Skrine
    3) Adams pass interference on Gronk
    4) McCown INT
    5) ASJ Fumble

I was at the game it was overall pretty well played by both teams. Jets caught a couple breaks as well with the Gillislie fumble and Goskowski miss.

That being said the NFL needs stop allowing the refs to have significant impact on these games. Did anyone else hear the leagues explanation on the ASJ call? It's almost like they were trying to prove how much smarter they are than the average football fan with that call.

It looked like Robbie Anderson slipped on that route, but if he didn't then he needs to run that route better because that's horrible. They teach you from pop warner football to come back to the football on comebacks.

I expected the jets to lose not the jets to get the game stolen from them. 2 main calls essentially caused the Jets to lose the game
    1) Soft PI call on Jamal Adams when you can make an argument that Gronk should have been called for OPI
    2) The ASJ call. That may be the worst call I've ever witnessed. ASJ did not have complete control but regained complete control and then hit the pylon. It should not be this difficult to understand what is and what isn't a catch in 2017. Also, the NFL needs to make every DPI/OPI reviewable as its pretty obvious that pass interference is one of the most subjective calls a ref can make.

Todd Bowles is also still very bad at clock management, he blew 2 time outs early second half and at the end it bit us in the ass. Morton got a bit too cute with his play calls and there was a series where he ran the ball 3 straight times which is such garbage.

McCown also needs to stop staring down receivers as I think there was 2 main contributing factors to one of his picks. He throws to Robby and doesn't come off of him, Robby is too scrawny to fight for the ball and the CB (forgot who) saw it all the way. Robby is a burner, not a possession/I'm gonna fight for the ball kinda WR.

Patriots did not look like a championship caliber team today, and if the calls weren't so bad, and our team played a bit better it could have been a major upset.

    3-3, on to Miami

Robbie Anderson is so similar to Jerry Rice in almost every respect. Except when you consider football.

Robby may still have some drawbacks but from where I'm sitting he's become a legit dangerous weapon and an asset to have in the lineup.

Not too bad for an undrafted guy. Hopefully he can keep improving.

A dimension I noticed the Jets offense is sorely missing today is a power back. There were a couple 3rd and shorts where they couldn't get a friggin yard. Multiple times today the Jets run game got stuffed on short yardage situations.

Despite all the other things that conspired to cost them the game - bad calls, poor clock management, questionable play calling - even an above-average QB could've pulled this game out for them. McCown is NOT an above-average QB, despite throwing for over 300 yards, He made mistakes at key times, and couldn't make the key play at the end when he needed to. I don't know if Petty could've done better, and maybe he would've done worse, but we sure would've seen it one way or the other, and WORST CASE would've been he did worse and we lost the game. In other words, our record would be the same, AND we would have some concrete evidence of Petty's ability. Instead we continue the March To Mediocrity.

They need a better offensive line. They absolutely cannot open holes in the running game. It's awful.

Well, that sucked. I'm not blaming the refs for Todd Bowles not making HT adjustments, but the Jets got tooled. I saw it on the Jumbotron, and no, it wasn't nearly conclusive enough to overturn. Welcome to the NY Jets version of the Tuck Rule. And Cheats fans hate Roger Goodell. See how I laugh. Tardkowski pushes off about 10 times a game and never gets flagged. Ealy got raped in front of a ref, no flag. Anderson wasn't speared/defenseless receiver, but if that was the Cheats, 30 flags. Claiborne made contact first, but Tardkowski face masked the living shit out of him, goes against Claiborne. Roughing the faggot. The list goes on and on. Bring back the replacement refs, they were worlds better.

I'll be a rabid Jets fan until the day that I die, but I'm seriously losing passion for this game. I'm also not a conspiracy theorist, but if people don't think the fix is in, they're deluded. The Jets had that Seattle call go in their favor (Testaverde was about two yards short, kinda embarrassing, but I was happy to have it), but you'd THINK that after instant replay came back it would mean something. I'm not an Eagles fan by any stretch, but if the refs weren't desperately trying to give the game to Carolina, then I'm The Monkey's Uncle. Yeah, that movie is about cheating. I'll curse tomorrow. I'm feeling too ladylike right now. I lied. The refs are a bunch of rusty kuntz.

That was the worst call I've ever seen. I'm still heated.

I am proud of our guys, BUT this game showed a lot of things.
Our Oline was awful today. We couldn't run the ball for shit today.
Matt Forte is done and cooked as far as a RB. Good catching balls out of the backfield, but he's done.
It's games like this where you wish you had an elite QB. While McCown has been good, and isn't the reason why we lost the 3 games we lost, especially today, we need to find our elite franchise QB when we want to compete for our division and an all elusive super Bowl.

I don't think an elite FQB was needed to win it...just an above average one, he Jets don't have any of those because they think that "Defense wins championships" and think the QB is just another position.

I feel like there's an extremely easy fix to this problem. Put an ear piece in the officials ears. Put an extra official up in the booth. Have radio contact between the officials on whether it was PI or not. It's getting absolutely ridiculous how inconsistent and bad these calls are.

It's a slippery slope because you don't want to expand this to other penalty calls like offensive holding which would run wild if reviewed on every play.

But it shouldn't be so bad that any casual NFL fan can spot bad PI calls on replay instantly. They make or break games, much like today.

The Austin Seferian-Jenkins fumble call does remind me of the call made against the Dez Bryant in last years playoffs that was ruled not a catch. Both calls defy what you eye and common sense tells you.

The NFL explained the reason why this was a fumble was due to Jenkins losing possession before landing on the ground and then losing possession a 2nd time by bobbling the ball when on the ground. I think everyone would agree that he lost possession momentarily when Butler knocked the ball out of his hands. On most of the videos I saw it does not appear to me he lost possession a 2nd time when landed on the ground. There was one video on the NFL channel that I saw in slow motion that shows for a spit second where one could argue that Jenkins momentarily loses possession while on the ground. Even then its a reach and I have to side with many of you that this was the wrong call. What is odd is why the video angle that shows the ball possibly being mishandled when Jenkins is on the ground is not being shown. This is the most critical part of the call, the so called 2nd possession lost. In any event, I think the Jets were robbed of a touchdown in my opinion.

Even though this call is getting the most attention, I believe the worst officiating was the reversal of the helmet hit penalty on Anderson.

As to the game, the Jets had a 14 point lead and decided to abandon all the success they had on offense. The Pats left tackle Solder was hurt and the Jets seemed to stop exploiting this weakness on defense. Also can someone explain to me why a Line Backer was covering Gronk most of the time? You have good safeties this year, why not use them? The loss of Powell also hurt the Jets running game.

The Patriots were no better and when they had the lead they let the Jets right back into the game also. Also when your QB McCown throws for 354 yards, this illustrates how bad the Pats defense really is. The Pats may have won but they sure don't appear to be like last years team.

Neither team deserved to win this game, but the Jets do deserve a lot of credit for their effort. The Patriots were favored by 9 1/2 points which was a joke. We all know Jets/Patriots games tend to be close affairs usually. I know this is a tough loss but the Jets are heading in the right direction and I wouldn't be surprised if they beat the Pats next time this year.

The remaining schedule for the Jets will not be easy and they will be tested. But this team is definitely more likeable then last years team.

One more note, after the game I think Jenkins showed a lot of class and he is the type of team player the Jets have been missing. So be proud to be a Jet because there might be some sunshine in your future!

Does anyone else strongly dislike this guy? ^^

Don't you have a circle jerk over Tom Brady's picture scheduled for 1 AM or something?

What's funny is how many pats fans are trying to defend the call on NFL's Facebook page Or saying they would have won anyway. Or saying they get bad calls all the time (they didn't call personal fouls every time Brady got touched I bet). It really reveals a lot about that fan base.

Anderson should be playing in the Canadian Anorexia league. He has no business being a WR2.

The Jets should have won this game, but they didn't. The Patriots are a flawed team and one could seriously argue they were lucky not just for the call. This is the typical sediment in Patriot land, so I don't think you are representing the true sediment of the Pats fans. Most of the calls on radio talk shows claim the Patriots were lucky and the Jets should have won the game.
