I feel that too. Not so much Owens, but that they are going to make so sort of big signing. Peppers is a possibility. In the end though who really gives a shit. "the Jets are coming and i think that's gonna be more then they can handle".
TO to the Pats makes a lot of sense to me... (from thread in NYJ forum) The Patriots (or more specifically Belichick) has a track record of managing strong / disruptive personalities. The Patriots are looking for another wideout. I am also guessing they are looking to make Brady's comeback as easy as possible. Outside of maybe the Crazy Al in Oakland, there really only two teams out there that I think that would be potential destinations. NE and JAX (Fox's job is on the line this season and the WRs are poor). And I think TO would rather get balls from Brady than Garrard. Consider the teams that need WRs and could be contenders (i.e. criteria for the team wanting Owens and vice versa) -- NYG (already not interested in TO), MIN (tried to get Housh, already not interested in TO), PHI (tried to get Housh, no chance), NYJ (no QB), WAS (not interested)
IMHO Kraft would NEVER tolerate it. He maintains that Kraft Family imagine, and I swear, he would rather give up a Lombardi, than have a PIA disaster like TO on the team. TO would not be worth his time and energy.
Wasn't the same thing being said about Moss. And Moss also was coming off an injury and crappy year and cost a draft pick.
Good point. However, Moss was more controllable, IMHO. Moss did not have crying vids that are the laughing stock of You Tube. Furthermore, Brady had Moss under his wing, making him work out, just as hard as he does. Who wants to hang out/work out with an obnoxious cry baby head case like TO???!!! Yuck.
No, Moss only had the stigma of getting high and running over police officers. At least TO only hurt himself. Not only could a very good case be made that Moss is more dangerous from a PR standpoint, I think you are severely overestimating Kraft's moral compass. Not only has he presided over the biggest cheating scandal in sports since Shoeless Joe (basketball doesn't count), but his right hand man appears to be the most morally barren person to hold a clipboard since Mike Tice. Hardly the kind of man that would spurn TO over the reasons you have given.
The thing is, in a league like the NFL where you can dump a player so quickly and easily, you're almost better off with a guy who causes trouble in his own personal life than one who fucks things up in the locker room.
Whoaaaaaaa. "Running over police officers" Not good. Oooooooops. You win. You obviously have a lot more relevant data than I had. :shit:
