I think Tanny clearly takes a "quality over quantity" approach (and is damn good at it) but this also makes sense for him as I don't think any of his later round picks are too great. OF course, he very rarely has picks in the later rounds, so the strategy he uses makes a lot of sense given his skillset as a GM.

"Bill Belichick is still considered by many the Dark Lord of the Evil Empire and the most feared coach in football, if not in all of North American sports.

But his management of the draft from 2004 to 2009 reminds us of Adolf Hitler's management of the German military from 1941 to 1945: one disastrous decision after another
    ."

    That's signature material!

It has to be a consideration of whether they drafted good or bad that year. If they had picked in the 2nd and early 4th and the players had not produced you can say it was a bad draft.

In 2007 the Pats had a 1st round pick (Merriweather), then traded their 2nd for Welker and 4th for Moss. They had one late 4th rounder and the rest were 5th through 7th. On a stacked team, the odds of any of those picks making the team were slim already. Merriweather makes it a decent draft for them.

It wasn't a bad draft, like 2006 was certainly.
