Hey jerkoff, we're discussing an article that just came out yesterday and if you don't think it sounds sketchy, then that's fine but to the rest of us this sounds like just more of the same Cheatriot bullshit that they've been getting away with for years.

We all read the NFLs position, doesn't mean we have to agree with it.

It's clearly sounds like the Pats are circumventing the salary cap and Brady took a hometown discount because the Patriots were making it up to him outside the rules.

    Fuck off.

It's very cute that Pats fans love NFL head office again now that Goodell is sweeping Kr*ft's misdeeds under the carpet like the good old days.

It's like they forget that Goodell literally destroyed evidence that would have blown the Pats out of the water forever.

I actually retained that from the article. However, it doesn't make it any less slimy. Just because the ever so fair, popular, reasonable, intelligent and unsullied Goodell thinks this is acceptable doesn't mean 31 other teams and their fans do.
If you can't see the problem that people have with this you are not being honest with yourself. I say this assuming you are a reasonable person.
This can turn into a huge black eye for the league. I can just see it being swept away to save face.
I'd love to know the cummulative dollar amount gained by Tommy. Then I have to wonder if the value of the contract is forthcoming.
So many things come into play. Free agent signings, extending contracts of veterans. All potentially made more affordable because at least a portion of Tommy's pay is not on the pay roll. You cannot deny this.

Well the league has always had it out for the Patriots. They have accomplished everything playing against the referees and league office. That's why EVERY referee call goes against them.

    Derelle Revis
    Aaron Henandez

But Hernandez almost fucked up the whole operation costing the pats millions in dead money. Only a couple of examples, more coming, surly.

That's just a red herring though, bc the point stops at Brady accepting money from Kraft on the side. Cheaters

well they signed Darrelle Revis and Brandon Browner last year who were key parts to that championship team while Tom Brady was outside of the top 10 highest paid at his position..

but again- it doesn't even really matter. it should be against the rules even if Brady made $2 on the deal. its avoiding the salary cap to pay a player. talk about opening the flood gates.

Edit: looks like we're all on the same page

Yup--if there is a hard cap and you don't have to give Tommy that last $2-3 million that he's making off of Patriot businesses, that $2-3 million can be spent on other players.

It's called math. It's not that hard to understand.

Unless you are from New England.

They paid Revis on the cheap and let him go when he got expensive.

    Stop.

They paid Revis more than any other team was willing to pay.

    That's what Revis does.

The facts are the NFL is currently in litigation with Brady on his Deflate Gate Suspension (fact)

NE has lost 2 draft picks and big fines from Deflate gate (fact)

Suspicions and questions about why Brady keeps taking below market value deals, also devaluing other players of his same union (fact)

League is investigating this as and has not rendered any decision (fact) - (hmm looks like they found another loophole in our contract wordings, as a purposeful way to get around the system).

Sounds like the Pats trainers and BB are not too thrilled with this and the optics, but what Butt Boys wants....butt boy gets.

It certainly does look like a salary cap end around. I am sure the NFL will come down on them at the correct time. Listen if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck.....the Kraft media cartel will spin 24/7 looking for good press.

I think it was either Paul Brown or George Halas, who used to manipulate his roster by stashing guys on the taxi squad, basically paying the players through the owner's taxi business instead of the football team.

Point being, when you are successful, you can get away with quite a bit.

    Are you for real?

Can only do that and the Browner deals if they have some favorable cap space, which Tommy provided with his off the books transactions.

this is true but the league working rules and conditions have changed dramatically. Back then the NFL was recreational league run by rich business men....they controlled every facet....only thing different now is the Players association.
