No idea what you are talking about. But do you really think they stopped cheating. And wide open I mean had nobody in the area I watch football non stop they are the only team that gets the advantage of having people wide open that often.

Yeah, lol. I thought his first post was a troll attempt and now he's defending it so I'm not sure anymore.

He does watch football nonstop though, so maybe he knows his stuff better than everyone else who has ever watched the game. I doubt many people watch it nonstop, you know?

I misunderstood your original statement. You said:

"Pats cheating again. Always had Revis on the targeted receiver and had about 10 plays with people wide open."

So I was taking that as, "They always know who to put Revis on and that leaves other guys wide open."

Now I get what you're saying. And it's even dumber than your original statement. Are you really suggesting that the Patriots, using some sort of competitive advantage that's outside the rules, are getting receivers open? How exactly would an NFL team cheat to that effect? You do watch the sport, right?

If you're going to hang your hat on the cheating thing at least don't suck at it. I mean, c'mon. That's just completely stupid.

No I said two things originally you just can't read cause your face is stuck up Bradys smelly ass.

And I was joking anyway about the cheating. However Revis still gets away with hitting receivers more than other corner backs.

Yeah OK, that was all me.

He probably does get away with more contact. Most of the top CBs do...

I just find it funny that the minute anyone mentions cheating the Pats fans get so sensitive. Embrace it. It happened.

Yes I know. But usually when people are joking about it (which can be funny when it's done well) they don't get into specifics the way you did.

Because it's funny to get you all riled up. Same delusional sports town that boos ARod and calls him a cheaper when ManRam and Ortiz were caught with peds themselves.

Actually I don't get riled up about spectator sports.

It's funny for you to see Pats fans get defensive about Spygate, and it's funny for me to see Jets fans bitch about Spygate, especially when they post outrageous claims or whatever. Which is why I responded.

Well which way do you want it. Is cheating ok or is it not?

What do you mean, "which way to you want it?" I don't understand the question.

Spygate happened, yes. I'd rather it didn't. But it did. Is that what you mean?

I didn't think you were joking in your original post. I've seen crazier claims than the one you were making. That's all.

So you are saying that your team cheated and none of your championships have value as they were won by tainted means?

Yah, don't talk about the illegal picks the Lions got away with.

But of course you're right, the Pats are almost penalty free this year. Dope!

Edit: I just read the rest of the posts and your trolling... shitty at it, but trolling.

    Nevermind

Yes because picks are the same as knowing what plays are coming.

LOL... yeah this is heading in a good direction. But hey it's almost the holidays, peace on earth and all that crap, so I'll bite. A little.

If "Spygate" had happened and the Patriots dropped off the map, I'd be the first one to turn in my game jersey. There's no positive aspect or fun in rooting for any team in any sport that is playing with a significant advantage. You brought up baseball before... I've basically stopped watching the sport. Everyone is dirty.

But they didn't do that. They went 16-0, just falling short of a perfect season, and have since gone to two more Super Bowls. They've actually won more games post-scandal than pre-scandal.

Most opposing fans don't really understand exactly what the Patriots did. Nor do they understand how trying to decipher the other team's signals (prior to plays being radioed in on both sides of the ball) has been a part of strategy and gamesmanship in the NFL for decades. I'm not bullshitting you when I say that the more someone throws Spygate out there, the less they typically understand about the game. Not saying that applies to you, but it's an objective truth.

Did it happen? Sure. Do I wish it didn't? Absolutely. Would I feel better about my team if they won another post-Spygate title? You bet.

People hate the Patriots... I get that. They're sick of seeing them win. Which makes Spygate a very convenient thing for them. This also happened in an era when information (and misinformation) spreads faster than ever. Can you imagine if message boards were more prominent back when the Broncos were found tampering with the salary cap and violating the rules to keep star players on their roster? No one ever questions Elway's Super Bowl wins.

I know what they did. They spied on teams defensive signals and had their qb headsets on after the deadline. Seems to me as if this would allow the team to know what play is coming. Cheating at its finest.

The rule the Patriots violated has to do with where cameras are positioned. Not what they were filming. This is a moot point nowadays anyway, since calls are radioed in to the defense as well as the offense now.

That second part... in bold... never happened. It was an allegation in that self-published Spygate book but was never substantiated. Sort of like the alleged taping of the Rams' walk-through, which also never happened.

So this is kind of what I mean. I'm not ripping you but you're obviously not 100% on the details.

I'm not denying the nature of it. They broke a league rule. I hate that it happened, as any fan of a team would. But I've lived in NE and rooted for the Patriots since I was a kid (through a lot of really awful years, I might add). Hard to just kick that aside when you look at them before and after the story broke, and realize that they're just as good now as they were then. (Just please don't go to the "but they haven't won a super bowl since!" route now, lol...)
