https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2012/09/20/back-and-forth-with-nicks-and-talib/ He gave up a bunch of slants, and was beat deep on a play where he slipped on the jam. He also broke up a bunch of passes (credited with 4 PD), PFF gave him a +1 for the day.
And he was grabbing jerseys all game. I don't think examining CB play during any replacement ref games is a good idea. CBs were getting away with too much.
He won't do anything to change a really bad secondary. The Bucs were almost ready to give up on him, what is he going to bring to the Patriots?
Why is all the "experts" think he will be great for the Pats, he doesn't know their system. Also they tried this experiment before, like Albert Haynesworth and Ochocinco. Those experiments blew up in there face. So will Talib. Well at least all the experts say they tried.
A solid veteran CB? One who is over 5'9"? Their secondary is torn up right now, the starting back 4 are all out except McCourty who they moved from CB to S. They started two rookies last week, one of them a 7th rounder. Talb isn't an all-pro, but he is a solid CB, he'd be a starter on most teams, and he is better than anyone the Patriots have had in years. He also has the size to play press which most of the Patriots can't.
How so. They don't have alot money tied up in the guy. If he sucks or gives them trouble they dump him.
Most of the comments from writers and GMs I've read think the Bucs made a good trade and the Pats are taking a chance.
