And one more point - to ignore building the O-Line like Mac did over his tenure should have gotten him fired much earlier. I almost feel sorry for Bowles. He never had a chance.
Blaming this on Darnold when his line was completely overwhelmed is just lazy analysis. He missed that pass to Robby at the end which he should have made, but outside of that he was going against a top tier pass defense while his line was being manhandled. There's not much he can do.
I still can't believe they lost this game. At 16-0 I was thinking shutout. Five turnovers and close to getting two or three more and they still let Buffalo get outta here with the W. Buffalo put in the rookie RB the Jets played like they had never seen a small shifty back before.
D did enough to give the offense plenty of opportunities only for the offense to absolutely jackshit with it....offense scored 8 points...defense scored 8 points.
The line might suck, but a WINNER QB would have hit the wide open Anderson. That was the game winner right there. He blew it. He had a wide open receiver and time to throw it on that play. A winner would have hit that guy for the score. Sometimes you only get one or two chances in a game to make the difference. Sam couldn't come through. There's the difference between a close win and a close loss.
God I always forget how dumb this place gets after a loss. I don’t know why I bother to come those days.
Darnold gets blame. He was not reading defenses. Part of that is on base too tho. Playcalling did not help, but the line was awful. Poor offensive showing all around Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
He didn't play well. He underthrew Robby on a deep ball earlier that should've been a TD, underthrew him again late in the game then overthrew him. I don't know who he was throwing to on some of those last passes. He was throwing off his backfoot all game long. I don't believe in blaming others for one person's problems. Gase can't play the position for Darnold. He didn't play well today. For now I'll leave it at that.
It's pretty clear CJ Mosley is the QB of the defense. Without him, they fell apart. It is not rocket science. The offense needed to step up and close it out and they failed horrendously. That's life. The season is far from over. Just need to make sure Mosley is okay. Quinnen Williams too. And maybe sign a kicker who can make an extra point while we are at it.
To me he looked poor to average Hesitant and took too many sacks Yes O line issues but he is also to blame
Ok, but he made that throw multiple times last year. So he can make it. But every once in a while he's going to miss it. Calm down.
This game was lost on offense. Period. Your defense hands you 4 turnovers and you manage to put EIGHT points on the board?? In THIS NFL?? With THESE RULES?? Absolutely ridiculous, and unheard of. The Offense wears this loss. 100%. Never wanted this coach. Saw this 50 times in Miami, and knew he sucked. Hoping to be proven wrong, but expecting yet another coaching change in 2021.
Agree with you 60 per cent..how far can you get when you have poor personnel on the OL Kicking etc I was hoping for a breakout game but I sobering up fast The other 40 per cent is on the CS ..like perople have posted Sam D is mobile QB ..he needs to be rolling out for goodness sake! OTOH I will NOT lose my sh^t with Gase over 1 game They say the first 3 reg season games are almost like practice (even for the Pats) cause Vets don't play preseason I hope Uncle Joe Douglas has a sit down withGase and tells him that unless he moves the Chess pieces better in game he is on the way out. The GM has a even more Herculean task of overhauling the Team I wanted a big W ...instead I'll just say it's to to small a sample to come to any judgement on the present NYJets org/team Let's revisit this after the BYE ....sigh
Well we have a head coach waiting in the wings. Unless the front office is that reluctant to hire another defensive minded coach.
