Like Beamen and the Kramsta, I question the alignment more than the play itself. Don't even bring in the threat of a run? Seriously? From about a foot away? Make the defense guess a little, we have tight ends, they're big guys, come on.

I said this in the Game thread.

This was the CS saying "You want Passing at the Goal line, Here ya go"

Well ya know what. If this is a message from our HC then It's BS!

To try and send a message to the media and fans when you should be trying to win a game is grounds for him to GTFOOH!

The only other reason for this is getting goal line reps and at that point of the game , we still had a chance.

    So IMO. Mangini is FOS.

AORN, I'm trying to think of another reason they would do this.
Someone please, help me comprehend just wtf they are thinking here!

I have to agree that at the 1 foot line you have to at least have the threat of a running play there to keep the D honest. While I didn't like three running plays in a row last week I would have been happy with either a run or pass in that situation. However, the formation has got to show the defense that threat of either a run or a pass. I didn't like the fact that the formation told the defense that it would be a pass. Why not at least have Leon back there (even in the shotgun) so the Chargers would have to think about a possible handoff? Other than that play and the stupid on-sides kick I have little issues with the offensive play calling.

once again Mangini seems to not have a clue or a plan for these situations most coaches have plays designed for all situations

If the game was lost they would not have gone for two or attempted the onside kick. Oh and Clemmons would have been way earlier and I would have beat the trffic out of stadium.

I understand what you are saying though unfortunately lining him up in shotgun nearly led to that injury.
