Cromartie is the reason we won without Revis.

Was everyone playing man on that play, and Skrine playing Zone?

    Very bizarre miscommunication.

Colts would be a good fit, another linebacker that can't tackle consistently.

    Ballhawk, great as always.
It appeared to me our secondary blew coverage and were out of position quite a bit. This is an area where Bowles should excel at fixing.
IMO, if Cro plays as well with Revis as he does when Revis is not there we would be so much better in the secondary. It's almost as if he changes his approach to the game when he is the #1 corner.
Also, having Williams back at least for all nickel and dime packages will do wonders when we play pass heavy teams like NE and yes (dear I say) Buffalo.
Looking forward a bit , after watching Dallas play Sunday, their D is pretty damned good against the run and excellent at rushing the passer. Lee is a stud LB. We are in for a fight. I am worried sick about their special teams and that demon of a returner Lucky Whitehead. He is amazingly fast and finds the open seam constantly. He could bury us all game long. We better figure out something. Avery needs to do his homework in spades.

Perhaps he should have, but haven't you ever seen defensive players knock each other off of a tackle in a situation like that? I certainly have. Knowing how often Cromartie eschews physical contact or making tackles, I can't say that's what he was thinking, but it at least could have been. Hey, if the conspiracy folks are right, Davis could have been told to miss the tackle, and Gilchrist (or Skrine) and Cro to chase OBJ to make it look good. ;)

I thought you were referring to when they were chasing OBJ inside the 30 yard line. Cro actually made up a little ground on OBJ and kept running hard. Gilchrist/Skrine stopped running hard and coasted the last 10-20 yards.

Gilchrist had a legitimate shot at making a tackle there.

I partially blame the attitude the league has nowadays about players leaving their feet to fly into a tackle.

Good point, although Davis left his feet and dove, he just whiffed.
