As has been mentioned in this thread, the Sacks largely were a result of either blitzes or outstanding coverage. And the 3rd Down conversions that were allowed in several games were the most damning evidence of a lack of pass rush. Just based on my eye-test, it appeared that our pass rush was mostly all-or-nothing. If the D didn't sack opposing QBs, then it seemed as if they had all day to throw. Hurries and pressure are often just as good as sacks. In '09, our first game vs the Pats with Rex at the helm was a game in which the D harassed Brady all game long, yet didn't record a single sack; nevertheless, Brady's numbers were low and we held them to 9(?) points or something like that.
Thanks for signing your post. I thought maybe your little brother got your login info and was posting crap. The signature proves it's you. Thanks again.
Pass rush is a problem until we stop giving quarterbacks time to convert too many third and longs against us.
I feel with the secondary returning IN TACT are 4 Man rush this year could be nice. Westerman/Pace(Mauga//Maybin); Eliis; Wilkerson; I cant wait till the season starts!
The year before? Jets were ranked #1 in defense. That doesn't mean they didn't produce a gigantic clusterfuck when they tried to blitz. See how Manning dismantled the team during the playoff. In other words: WATCH THE FUCKING GAME. READING STAT SHEET MAKES YOU AN IDIOT.
