The situation was a lot more advanced then your making it out to be.

    Even so. I'll bite.

That one example is still more the exception rather then the rule.

If Parcells had stayed with us, who knows?

He didn't though. Which is why continuity is so important.

We never have it and we never go far.

I respect Woody that he kept Rex as long as he did. The revolving door at GM made it impossible.

We finally have a good GM imo. So I guess we will se what happens.

So are you saying that you think that Todd Bowles is a competent HC and should be given another year or three for stability's sake?

    I really don't understand this????

you complain about how dumb Woody is when the fact is he did EXACTLY what the fans wanted when hiring a front office. He relied on experienced NFL professionals to search for a great, young, up and coming General Manager. Charlie Casserly and Ron Wolfe hired Mike MacCagnan. Mac then had complete autonomy to the hire the HC of his choice. Mac hired Toilet Bowles. Woody Johnson had nothing to do with it. Mac merely ran his choice by Woody and Woody gave his blessing.

So where Woody gets this kind of disrespect from you, I will never know. If you don't like the HC, blame Mac. If you don't like Mac, blame Casserly and Wolfe for hiring Mac. Woody hired experienced NFL professionals to find the next GM and he heeded whatever Casserly and Wolfe said.

It was an exception because Parcells was a HOF coach. If you can get a truly great coach, you can win almost immediately upon his arrival, no continuity necessary. But opportunities like that rarely happen, and some coaches can get better after a couple years.

Couldn't agree more. Half of this fan base is clueless and are in general, miserable assholes.

Apparently Bowles was hired a day after Mac was. I wonder how many HC candidates Maccagnan had time to interview in the day he was here before deciding on Bowles. Something about the timing seems off.

I don't see Woody rocking the boat for a while. He had to due something out of character in asking for advice from two other advisors. In doing so he basically admitted he doesn't know sh_t. This would be admitting the process failed. The sad part is that we need better coaching but no one is really available at the moment and they won't interview if we jettison Bowles. If there is a sacrificial lamb this offseason its going to be one of the coordinators.

Plenty of fish in the sea but how many keepers? We could end up going through the same process we've done with Bowles and a bunch of others. I think we see how he handles the rest of the season. But no, chances are he probably doesn't do a good job.
