Id be willing to give any player a chance as long as he isnt a player who doesnt get along with his teammates. Pacman is a great talent and is a top 5 corner in the league. he grew up hard if he is released he should be given a chance, hopefully by us.
Pacman is a piece of shit. Grew up hard? give me a break. He should rot in jail and probably will. And if he doesn't the league will probably suspend him for not tell the team and the league that he got arrested 2 more times than the 50 times he already got arrested last year.
Read this before u critisize his "so called tough childhood" or my assessment of him http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2790076
Dude... What Pacman has been through is nothing new for A LOT of inner city youths, I grew up seeing plenty of my friends killed and jailed, having to watch the cars that came through my block, ducking bullets just walking across the street from the store to my building, seeing the crack vile's in the staircase graffiti on the walls, urine, whatever. The problem is I lived in a much safer neighborhood in the Bronx than most in NYC. Co-Op City was no 'real' hood per se', most of the guys I grew up with had a choice, just like Pacman and he's was given a 'GIFT' and he's squandering it. He's making a choice to live the life he saw and use that as a CRUTCH to being an ass. I've been living in Atlanta for almost 12 years and I can tell you, just like Co-Op and MOST inner city neighborhoods across this country, these kids do it to themselves, there are places in the world, in this country, A LOT worse than College Park, GA, where kids would love the opportunity to get one meal a day and go to school free. Pacman is a waste of talent. I don't hate on what another man has, because I know that it's in the cards for some and not for others. What frustrate me is, that your given a chance by a higher power to do something with your life and you blow it trying to 'ACT HARD'...blah...Pacman does not deserve to wear a JETS uniform or ANY NFL uni for that matter, until he gets his act together and at this rate the ONLY uni he'll be wearing is a jail jumpsuit. His 'HARD' life is no excuse. Again, I've buried many of my friends, I've seen guys get their brains blown out over stupidity. I RECENTLY, well actually in 2003, had a friend get killed down here in the BUCKHEAD district of Atlanta, over a GIRL, he had a choice, he chose the streets, he was 38 at the time, is that how Pacman wants to learn? Or maybe like Rae Carruth, doing a lengthy bid. I DO NOT use what I've seen in my past as an excuse to go out and be a dredge on society and I sure as hell will not teach my kids any of that and I do ALL I can to make sure my kids never have to witness the things I have. Pacman needs to grow up. Period, point blank.
Im not giving Pacman an excuse on what he is doing. He is wrong for putting himself in those situations and should be punished.I just dont like to see talent wasted, and if i were Pac id be praying for someone to give another chance if he were released. And i would only hope the jets would be willing to cause i dont think he is really a bad guy, i might be wrong i just think if he is in the right situation he could turn his career around.
Also not all people take things the same way i mean his father died when he was 5 his mother has been to prison and his grandmother who was always in his life died after he graduated high school.Just because the same things happened to your friends doesnt mean the affect was the same , simlar events might not necssasrily effect people the same way.Still not making any excuses for him im just sayin
What about the dude that is paralyzed because some jackass in that douche bag's posse if not the douche bag himself shot up a strip club. So because his Daddy died at 5 we give him a flier on that behavior? Seriously is that what you are saying? I do not give one iota of sympathy to his behavior because he grew up father less and poor. There are plenty of people that grew up in worse, do not have a zillion dollars to throw at a harem of strippers, buy Bentleys and get off scott free because they are professional athletes that get a free pass for abhorrent behavior. Please stop with social lessons that are nonsensical.
He had a role model...those are excuses. Now mind you I dont know what it's like to lose my father @ 5, but you know what? he's talented, the neighborhood he's from although it is NOT the greatest, is far better than living in Bagdad. I'll say this and end it. Pacman jones although probably NOT a bad person, needs to grow up, the only reason ANYONE wants to give him a chance is because he's an athlete...let you or I the common everday Joe, get arrested so many times in 1 year and the majority of the people would be calling to throw us UNDER the jail. Pacman needs to thank his maker ... Curtis Martin grew up in Gang territory in a shitty area of Pittsburgh with no father and just his mother...never heard about him in any trouble. Same with Denzel Washington as a matter of fact the neighborhood Denzel grew up in was walking distance from Co-Op City...never heard about him getting into trouble. PACMAN JONES NEEDS TO GROW UP!
how many people have had it easy growing up? its these kinds of people that make people like pacman jones feel that sense of entitlement. "hes a top 5 talent"....bullshit. they should lock his hood ass up and let him rot. who cares if he gets along with his teammates? he cant get along in society. the fact that he grew up without should make him appreciate where he is at, and that he is in a position to help those that are less fortunate. instead he "makes it rain" in a titty bar and cripples a man just doing his job, you know, protecting the woman he assaulted in the bar. he should be banned from the NFL, let alone from playing for our beloved jets. id rather have d-rob play corner for us.
I can't believe this thread is still alive. Pacman Jones is an insult to every person who goes out and earns a living. This piece of crap got a free ticket out of "his hard life" and he pissed it away. Stop making excuses because he has super athletic talent. He is a miserable human being. He's had plenty of chances. He does not deserve the priviledge of playing in the NFL. God forbid he ever plays for the NY Jets.
i read that the other day...his past is no excuse for his behavior. if it was one mistake, you can look past that and give the guy a second chance....but hes not learned from his mistakes....he just makes more and more poor choices, and they end up having serious repricussions. leonard little shouldnt be in the NFL, and neither should adam jones.
