Got back from the game a little while ago and Pace looked great tonight. He was all over the place making plays.
I wonder if this means the Jets will give Adalius Thomas a call to protect themselves and not have to overuse Taylor.
Pace and Ellis Yeah I remember screaming yeah Pace multiple times. I really think God is pissed at the Revis Christ thing. Lol
awesome... Still don't know why our first team defense played the 3rd quarter. I can understand the offense, but why risk injury to the defense?
Pace has been consistently good in the pass rush in all three games. I can't remember anybody else who has. He will be a huge loss no matter how many games he misses.
Pace getting hurt sucks balls......this is a big loss. He was going to be a monster this year. Thank god the Jets have Taylor as they are going to do the exact opposite of what they wanted with him but they have no choice. It wouldn't hurt to see Westerman step up too.
Fuck that obese moron we have in Rex. First time since I'm a Jets fan I'm pissed at Rex. Ok so we're loosing, but is that a good reason to risk the 1st team O and especially D for 3 QTRS!? Fuck no it isn't... If you don't like loosing prepare the game more you fat idiot... don't just keep your best players out there and wait for one to get hurt!
Mark's hit didn't look anything like Chad's but it did look like a play our defense would have been flagged for as the defnder gave a little extra oomph to his shoulder as he was going down to the ground.
this is the third preseason game we are talking about. the players need the reps and have to prepare play coming out of halftime. Especially since they were losing, it was imperative that they find a way to get back in front as will actually be needed come the regular season. Correct me if I am wrong, but the offense did find a way to get it done, and they retook the lead, then they left the game for good. An injury is not rex's fault, he needed to get the guys playing, and preferably playing well before he pulled them. Next week is the week the starters shouldnt play hardly at all. If he plays them late and another injury occurs, then you can crucify the guy. But Pace's injury is not on rex, its an act of football, it happens.
Over react much? It is generally accepted practice to keep the starters out 3 quarters in the 3rd preseason game. Every good coach does this, unless they are running a country club. ( A team coached like that will suck) ........ unless that is a sarcastic post, which I don't think it is.
Yeah it was an over-reaction... My point though is the D showed it can play in all the PreSeason games. Since the difference because our 1st and 2nd stringers is big why risk our best players in the 3rd quarter? Guys like Pace, Jenkins, Ellis, HArris should've all been kept out imo...
Why do they need all those reps? They forgot how to play football during TC? These guys have been playing football for most of their life and go against each other every day (with the exception that in practice there's a lot less chance to get hurt). I'm not saying they shouldn't play in the pre-season... just that to me it was a bit of a risk to keep some of these guys out for three full quarters... PS I'm a big fan of the 49ers/Gore way of doing things... in the preseason you see the ball as little as possible...
I agree play 2 quarters and a half at most for the third game. This injury is hugee if Revis isnt back. If Revis is back we will manage like we did last year and hopefully JT will step up
1.) TC is not a game. It doesn't have the game speed. 2.) A running back is not comparable to any other position. It has the least transition time vs. probability for injury. 3.) Check Gore's injury history and the 49'ers depth at RB, which goes back to point #2. You want to debate the merits of a generally accepted practice that is fine. Drop the silly OMG Ryan is an obese idiot tack. Not only does it make your argument look silly. It has the even worse effect of making you a SOJF or worse, a poster from finhaven or what ever the fuck they call that stupid site. Ryan took the standard line of all good coaches. A line that has been used for decades. He lost a good player for a month or so. I didn't see this argument come up last year when nary a starter got hurt.
