No they don't, they have no WRs on the field when they run their wildcat what makes their offense hard to stop is that they have 2 explosive backs with power running the thing.

If Henne is on the field, and they have a standard set of players out there... if Henne splits wide, and Brown takes the direct snap... IMO that is the wildcat. And they do this fairly often. Maybe we disagree on what the wildcat is.

I say it's any time the QB does not take the snap. That may not be technically correct, and as far as defending against Miami I also think it's moot point. Miami can and will do anything. With any player package, any group. Brown can take the snap. White can go out as a WR and take the snap. That is why it's so hard to defend. The defense never knows what personnel to put on the field. Assignment responsabilities get screwed up. it creates the "mismatch", something every coach talks about.

^ they take Henne off the field for the most part, so they have an extra true blocker rather than their QB.

I find it hilarious that they take their QB off the field and insulting to Henne.

No one should make the argument that the Wildcat works when you are 2-5. Thats my new statment.

If they take Henne off the field you rush 10.

If they dont...the edge guy goes after his knees.

I had that argument several times with Dolphin fans. One defensive stop and that ball game is over. I guesse that the point of this thread. I liked the formation this week against the Raiders. We seemed to have someone in the right spot pretty much every play. There were a couple that allowed Fargas to get through , but thats to be expected.

The Dolphins have sucsess in that formation because defenders get jumbled up and cat move to the right or left to persue the Runner. I watched clips of the saints game and to perfection they occupied the defenders and didnt allow lateral movement to the ball. The defenders looked locked in place and by the time they could react , they were trailing already.

Im confindent that Rex will have the wrinkles worked out come sunday and we will be raving about the Maurauding Lunatics again .

The Jets offense wasn't as good as the score showed. They relied on some penalties and special teams first downs to get where they got. Fortunately, the running game has looked strong the last 2 weeks. If they can get an early lead and run the ball well, the Jets will win.

Quite often what throws the D off is just as the ball is being snapped a runner (usually ricky williams) runs what could be an option play, but then that option can ALSO turn into another option as gaps start to open up.....see Fasano on the 2nd play.
There are so many options IF you have the right personnel to run it, Miami does and does it very very well.
To stop the WC there has to be an element of risk in the D schemes and blitzing. Over blitz and once again those holes open up, and quite often the receiver isn't alone down field and picks up blockers. So what I think Ryan will dial up is going to be more pressurised schemes that push the play to where we want it to go. N.O showed that, instead of being dictated to , they adjusted and made Miami adjust and did a good job of stifling the plays.

I think you are giuving Rexy way too much credit......The dophins do not need tricked into to running their offense. We just better stop it this time around or it is going to be a long game.

Keep your eyes out for Brian Hartline, this could be his breakout game. This is the guy they are saying may knock Ginn out of his #1 WR role.

Hey my old foe Whiteshoewillie, i am guessing we are on again for this game and the avatar deal? Ginn is a pussy. Can i say that on here?

Enjoy....this guy looks like an up and comer...the caoches have said he has already mastered ever WR position on the field and can be inserted accordingly. Pretty impressive for a rookie WR that left college a year early.

I don't quite understand what you were saying in that post but if you truly meant what I just bolded in the quote above, then my friend, that is the most ridiculous post I have ever seen on any board.

    Maybe he meant Madden??

I know these guys like to play a lot in the locker room.

He certainly hasn't done anything in the real world...

The NFL network showed feature last night on how the Saints shut down the wildcat for only 30 yds. They basically played the safety up more to catch the one deep man in and crashed both corners on the edges. Both plays forced the run inside where it was stuffed.

The LB's stayed inside and were close to the LOS and gaps at the snap. As I recall, jets fault was the LB's were 5-7 yds back from the LOS and conceding yardage and corners were too concerned with coverage when play was almost always a run.

I think Rex will be prepared this time. Key is to get to Henne on pass plays as well.

Well, It's fair to say the West Coast offense works when Bill Walsh wins a couple Super Bowls using it, and his disciples go on to win more games than they lose.

When you are one 4th qtr Meltdown from 1-5...using your record as an endorsement of the option offense in the NFL, is.....more than ridiculous.

    Which makes your post...rather..ironic donchathink?
