I agree. I couldn't believe how accurate he was that night. But he'll be playing in a whole different environment this time. The weather so far looks clear for Sunday, which should help our passing attack and also give better footing against the Wildcat as opposed to rain. The key is going to be keeping their offense off the field. If you do that, the Wildcat can go to hell in a handbasket. Get ahead and stay ahead and run the clock down by chewing up the yards on the ground. Richardson, Jones and Greene will play a huge role in this game.
I just want them to stop it, i really don't care what they have to say about it, im just hoping they can hold them under 125 yards rushing.
Intersting thing i heard last night on MNF ...when the Redskins were stopping the eagles running the wildcat ...they said forget about the backs ...its best to watch the linemen and how they are going to block....figure that out and the back will be waiting right around the corner. Miami has a solid front line when it comes to blocking for this ..i dont know how many times they sealed us off last game giving R & R an opening to make big plays.
he did it last year in the playoffs when he was in baltimore, i didnt see the game so i dont know how many times they ran the wildcat but thats what made me expect a W on monday night.
Maybe Rex was ready for it but it didn't look like our defense was! LOL There were times when they looked completely befuddled. But like I said, 31-27 isn't exactly a one-sided game, so if we take care of business this week and do a better job of "staying home" and tackling, that could be the difference. They were able to pull the entire line and LB corps to one side last time with this crap. We won't be falling for that too many times again (I hope)!
That offense is very hard to defend. You have Brown who can actually throw the ball pretty well. Then there is Pat White, a QB who can run. Williams and Brown make for a very eplosive duo on the ground. Chowder is dinged up, Miami's only good DB is out and Ginn got benched for Hartline against the Jets because he can't catch the ball. Still, they had their way with the Saints in the first half on Sunday. This is a game where Sanchez has to look like he did early in the season. We need some points on the board, and that means a balanced attack. Ryan can game plan all he wants, just like he did in the first game, but we still gave up over 30 points. And now, no Jenkins. Sanchez needs to have a good game, or this will turn out badly IMO.
3rd down conversions and TOP, baby. Best way to defend against it is to keep them off the field and have every drive come up with points. Sanchez has to have a good game and so does the O-line.
all he's got to do is watch film from the saints-fins game.......anyone can see the saints stopped the wildcat convincingly.
Um... Miami put up a thirty burger on NO. I was convinced alright... that the wildcat is hard to defend, convincingly.

Not sure what you mean. I look at the Miami offense as "the" wildcat, even if they run a play out of a standard formation. They have the personel package on the field to shift to that offense at any time. Other times, like when White is on the field, it looks like the wildcat, but White can play the traditional WR role as well. That makes it hard to get the right D personnel on the field to defend. When other teams like Philly try it, Vick is out there. Miami can shift into it on any play... or not. Just the threat of that offense causes problems.
Miami doesn't keep a QB on the field for the wildcat anymore with the exception of the rare occasions when Pat White is on the field. When he's on the field it's the wildcat. When there's no QB it's the wildcat. The Saints did a good job of containing it. Much better than we did.
