Back to back 0-16 seasons followed by Woody giving him a 7 year extension and the Jets get moved to Iowa
I like his hard nosed intelligent approach. I think because he was a player himself our players will respect that he's been in the trenches. Our division has improved and the draft is yet to come so it's hard to make any predictions... But I like the direction so far.
I think we got enough quality free agents here for the training wheels to come off. 8-8 with no playoffs would be a disappointment. He needs to get the wild card. Extra credit if he can knock off the Patsies for the division crown.
Really can't assess Bowles at this point he hasn't even conducted a OTA. The concerns I have is with the two coordinators. One has a track record in Gailey that is dated. The other has no expierence as a defensive coordinator. The problems Bowles will have this year is at QB. Until we have a QB that is dependable we won't be making any noise. Geno is not a starter in this league.
Agree. I'm a Jet fan not a Rex or Bowles fan. Rooting for him to get us to the promise land but will withhold my feelings or opinion about him until I see what he brings.
Geeze let it go already, If it comes up again than U can go on your rant and pound them. Never agreed with the billboard but Idzik deserved it and if it helped Woody decide than it was well worth it.
Every new head coach we've brought in made the playoffs their first season. So let's hope history repeats. Bowles demeanor is exciting. He seems like a take-no-shit type of guy. He won't accept a losing effort. Rex was that way at one point... guess he got too comfortable, or simply lost hope. With the rosters he's been given i don't blame Rex but that doesn't make it okay to have the "it is what it is" approach in the NFL. I just want to be an organized and respected franchise again. Tired of reading articles and seeing us constantly get dissed more than teams that we are constantly better than, even on a bad year. Bowles will let the league feel his presence, not hear it.
Actually, Bill Parcells did NOT make the playoffs his first season. Nor did Bruce Coslet or Pete Carroll or Lou Holtz...The list is rather long.
the defense will be exciting with the vastly improved secondary.. i can't wait to see all the parts together. the offense i'm still unsure about tho. was adding Chan Gailey, Fitzpatrick and Marshall enough change to make a difference? i'm not all that high on any of them. the best case scenario on O would be avg QB and Oline play. the worst case will look like last years turnover filled, red zone deficient disaster. that's my main concern, and it's too early to tell. for that reason, i voted 8-8..
