If the QBs are "okay", I think we will have pretty good defense and will perform better int he red zone. I like Bowles demeanor, but I have never seen him coach. I also like the fact that he is not whining for a QB. He thinks he can win with a guy who is fundamentally sound.
Because of the QB situation I would say at best a .500 team. The fact that Geno Smith appears to be the front-runner for the starting QB job has me pretty bummed, the guy sucks and has done nothing to even warrant a roster spot on an NFL team.
It's been 50 years, I wouldn't call that wanting instant results. The clock doesn't start over just because there is a new sheriff in town.
Agreed. What has Bowles done so far, other than perhaps lobbying for Revis, Skine, and Cromartie? Have the players even talked to him yet?
Woody'll blurt some bullshit out about it at a Press Conference first.... and they'll have to give up a 1st rounder for the Footman. Woody'll be happy tho...
Let the games start first. Too early. But since we don't have a legitimate QB, the most I expect from him and Jets is .500.
Bowles seems to have the right personality for what this franchise and fanbase needs, and i like what little he has said. I also think he did a great job in AZ and probably learned a ton of shit over the years, especially from Arians. I am impressed by the things Cro says about him, and despite the jokes people make about Cro's domestic situation, I think he's a very insightful player. So those are all positives. In the middle i thought it a bit silly he more or less said Smith is a clearly better player than Simms, which was unhelpful even if not inaccurate. No negatives, but it's very early, so I answered accordingly. I remain encouraged.
I like him. I think if I were a Jets fan he'd have been the one I would have rooted for them getting. Too early to predict shit that will happen in September through December IMO...
