TC is going to be intense, anyone know if there is a date they have to name a starter by before the season starts or anything like that?

"yeah I said it" hahah classic

Kellen looks like much less of a Jerry's kid in video than he does in still photos. Combined with the confidence, I like him a little better following that vid.

on NFL Live they just said they expect KC to be the starter at the start of season. I think it was Hasselbeck said that he can do it in the NFL since he showed that he can play well in the few games that he played. I concur with their analysis.

Did they also mention he is short, quick to run, tends to jumop a lot when throwing (since he's short), and worst of all for a short QB he throws side arm quite a lot too.

No mechanic, can't check down past his second receiver and no matter what anyone says, Brett has the stronger arm.

I want a strong armed, tall pocket QB with nothing to lose. Oh we already have him.

cant believe i missed this, ive said it numerous times I'm totally ready to see what Clemens really has with a legit OL and running game.

not to mention I think we'll have a defense thatll put whoever is under center in a good position.

I liked Clemens coming out of college, and I was a fan of the draft pick. people endlessly say since hes never wowed the staff in TC hes not legit. well Pennington will look better than almost any QB in TC, for all the knocks on him thats true.

and Favre was more of a move for a 1-2 year run at the time and moreso a move that reminded people were still in the league.

so of course hes not gonna get the starting job.

hell if I'm wrong ill be the first to say it, but Id at least like to see him get a real shot.

just like I said in the "Kellen Clemens" thread.

the day any of us can make a 100 percent accurate analysis on a QB after 7 or 8 starts behind a horrid OL with no running game and a joke of a defense.

thats the day you stop posting here and start getting a check from an NFL team.

and sidenote, worst case scenario, if Clemens performed miserably throw Ratliff in and give him a shot.

3 of the top 4 passers last year were Clemens height or shorter. Just sayin'.

Give Brett eight starts this year and if he doesn't put more points on the board than KC did in his first eight starts. If Brett doesn't pan out we can always go back to KC.

I hates the pick, he was a QB coming off an injury senoir year and his junior year wasn't all that impressive.

Eric had much better stats at Tennessee and he played against much better defenses. No doubt in my mind, by time Eric has been in the NFL three seasons he will be much better than Kellen.

Kellen will not get an extension or new contract. This is his last year, if he even makes it to the regular season.

Now is that with the 8 games with the same players KC had? Same Oline? I am not trying to defend the guy. But to give BR and KC the equal shake BR would have play with same team KC had that year. Damn that means we would have to see Justin Mc drop passes again.

I actually think Eric will be better than both BR and KC. But only time will tell as long as we don't fire our coach after 3 seasons.

Would it have killed one of them to have long hair and a Fu Manchu? I'd feel much more comfortable then.

Honestly though, if we can't land Cutler I'd be cautiously optimistic that one of our top two guys could do a decent job. As always, can't wait for the off-season to end...

Clemens scares the shit out of me , he reminds me of glen foley !! Ref Ratliff and his pre season rating...Browning Nagle anyone?? Having said that Ratliff showed more in one pre season game than happy feet has ever done.

So that makes three of us. :) I like that kid a lot - I loved that pick, and while things didn't work for him, I'd like to see what he can do in 2 years. If anything, he does seem to possess the intangibles - i.e. pocket awareness (3 sacks in 510 attempts), leadership and vision. His mechanic is still extremely poor though...
