The Oline has been shit and our receivers have under performed big time. Just because on paper it looks like theyre good doesnt mean they are. Our Oline right now is middle of teh pack at best!. Braylon doesnt get open at all. Holmes drops way too many balls. Not sure how you can think any differently

We've been spoiled because we went 2-1/2 years without an O-lineman missing a game. We have some depth, we have Callahan, this is what teams have to do in December. Take the guys you have, look at Pittsburgh and figure out a plan with the weapons you have, which we have plenty.

My gut tells me we play a great game this week, not sure if we win but I think we'll be right there at the end with a chance. Winning this game would be a great way to turn the page on the past two weeks and be 10-4.

We usually play the steelers tough despite never winning in Pitt. I think if we can get some sort of pass game going against an avg steelers pass d we can win. Playing good D is the only way we stand a chance. Against chicago i think we can win, there probably more overated then we are and the bills... no explanation needed there.

What gives is that we have some of the most sad-sack, self-pitying fans in football, it kills me because it validates all the media babbling about those miserable glass half empty Jets fans who are always waiting for the other shoe to drop. The fans turn on this team on the drop of a dime, it's pathetic. I agree the team has generally played like shit lately but there are lots of fans that act like it's a given the team is going to blow these next three games and miss the playoffs because of what happened in the past.

I agree I can't say we're exactly hospitable. We boo our own team....

I hate that about Jet fans....

Not many people agree with me but I hate booing. We are at the game to support our team, not provide a worse environment then most of their road games. It's ridiculous, if you can ride with the highs you must do the same with the lows.

The last thing Mark needs to be worrying about his being booed off the field, but the SOJF never fails at that.

Every home game we've been in for 98% of the game, and uet we boo. Wayne Hunter said it effects the team more than fans will ever know.

I always cheer, and yell at all the boo-ers.

You are making up a straw man. The concern is not "what happened in the past." The past includes last year's great year end run.

The concern is a decline in the team's performance at this worst time of the year, with no easy answers for turning it around. It is the HC, the personification of the optimistic, looking like he has no clue at the post game press conf. It is increasing numbers of injured and out starters. It is playing two tough D's in two road games when the Jets could not beat a mediocre fish team at the Meadowlands, after holding them to 10 points. It is no touchdowns in two games.

Having said that, there are some parallels to past collapses. Should we ignore them? Would that somehow make you feel better?

I can't speak for others here, but I don't see anyone saying they are only concerned because of "what happened in the past."

    " Same Old Jets "

I ALWAYS hear that on my way out of a stadium after a loss. It's the attitude that because this team has blown it many times in that past, that somehow it's preordained that this current Jet team will do the same. You get the massive amount of SOJF dissecting body language, wringing their hands over Rex's press conferences, ripping Rex for not firing Alosi, (honestly, who gives a flying f the guy's been punished enough) and generally jumping off the bridge en masse. So because the Jets collapsed in 2008, it means it's gonna happen again, or that there's no reason at all to think that this team can't right the ship?

And as for last year's great year end run, how about all those sad sack Jet fans that want to turn on the team because of the last two results and have been sounding much like mediots, saying how lucky we were last year to make the playoffs.

Yes, this team has played like shit for some time now, and were fortunate to win some games. But they're 9-4, and in full control of making the playoffs. This is the same team that had practically everyone in this forum doing cartwheels when things were going so well, how about some freakin optimism when they hit some adversity.

I think we can draw some parallels between the Miami game and the Atlanta game last season. The only thing is that we played Atlanta after 3 straight convincing wins, so Atlanta was more of a speed bump on a great run.

    This feels more like 2008.

You're right ...All these doomsday crybabies really are pathetic.
If you want to cry about what happened, so be it ... but why cry about games that haven't been played yet?
I didn't realize that losing 2 straight games for the first time since last November means that the season is over. I still thought we got to play all 16 games. Did I miss the memo?

We might lose to a very good Pittsburgh team on the road.
Even then, I don't panic because I still see 11 wins out there for us.

If you want to bitch and complain about the failure of this team, why don't you wait until it actually happens? I bet these are the same hippocrites who wrote the season off last year, but then wanted to be part of the party when we were winning playoff games. I wish fans like that would find another team to root for.

Sounds like you meant to say we can draw some distinctions.

    Heh.

Has anyone mentioned we will be playing 3 of the worst o-lines in the NFL to end the year

When i watched the replay of the game i also saw a bunch of plays where some guys on the O didnt even run routes fully or even at all.

Maybe the "schotty must go threads" are getting to these Offensive players.

Hopefully its not because shotty is not going anywhere soon.

Right now, the Jets would have a hard time beating Don Bosco Prep. It's all about the O-line play. If they get it back together, Jets can win. If not, 0-3 is not out of the question.

They had a team that only gained 131 Net Yards in the entire Game this past week, and that didn't help any... so what's your point?

When receivers drop passes, playcalling fucking sucks, protection breaks down, and your QB misses wide open receivers they deserve to hear something about.

    Just my opinion...

Never mind the fact that our offense can never get any kind of rhythm to help build the QB's confidence, its actually painful to watch. Every time you think they are about to find that rhythm, they run directly into a 9 man front twice and are back in 3rd and 7...

Actually everytime you think they are getting into rhythm they get a nice rushing gain that gets called back on penalty and we are 1st and 20.
    But same difference.....we stall.
