Weren't people saying Woody was pressuring the team to start Tebow, too? If Woody was the guy driving the Tebow train, why not force him in by now? If he was waiting for an excuse, he's had plenty.

The theory doesn't really hold weight. I don't know what about this front office would convince you that the only way they could make a terrible decision is if it was dictated by the owner. They make plenty of horrible decisions on their own. The Tebow trade just looks like another in a long line.

show me evidence we have been worse under Woody than previous owners? You'll be trying for a long time b/c that evidence doesn't exist. get on Woody all you want for PSLs but as far as football we've had our best stretch of football in team history under Woody's ownership.

I hate what he did w/ the Stadium, I love what he has done w/ the team. I hope he's not being pressured into making a silly move by cleaning house.

When he puts his own input, he has caused great harm, he needs to shut up and just pay the checks.

Such a joke - You are only comparing him to Leon Hess. That's not saying much. They were both shitty, shitty owners.

With how Woody responded to the questions about Rex/Tanny, you can bet that at the very least, Tanny will be fired (even if we do well this season).

His contracting skills alone should get him fired.

I find it funny how he outright says that Sanchez is the franchise QB but doesn't comment on Rex and Tanny.

A few weeks ago he was not commenting on Tanny's future, but still talking up Rex. That changed pretty quick. The writing may be on the wall for both now.

    is he bettre than Leon?

the Jets have been one of the top AFC teams since Woody took over. Only a few teams have more playoff apps than the Jets.

we have shitty, shitty fans but the owner is fine.

  12. Other than the stadium..I don't understand the hatred for Woody. Everyone in the organization proclaims that Tebow was brought in for football reasons only. Why is that so hard to accept?

Since Woody has been owner we've seen several playoff appearances, he's built arguably the nicest facilities in the NFL & has built a brand new stadium. Unless you're a die hard democrat or are just overreacting to losing..I dont get it

You can replace Woody's name with Sanchez and make the same case, that doesn't mean it holds water.

You could put any backup QB in the NFL in there and get the same results Sanchez is getting or worse. I'm not standing up for Sanchez here, just pointing out that between bad personnel decisions and injuries the Jets don't have anything going on that side of the ball right now.

Look at the last 2 off-seasons, look at the decisions we've made. This starts at the top. He knows nothing about football, he should stay the hell away from any decisions. Yet he's the one influencing them. This fall from grace happened far too fast.

I would consider a cheap-ass owner that refuses to pay for talent a shitty owner, I don't see Woody being that way. Or an owner like J Jones that feels like he is qualified to evaluate talent and will ultimately over ride any opinion that differs with his, again, I don't see Woody doing that.

I think, emphasis on 'think', that while maybe Woody might've floated the idea of Tebow, I can't see him insisting on going forward with that plan without listening to Tanny/Rex. And if they gave a thumbs-down on Tebow, I can't see him taking their negative outlook on the situation and overriding their collective assessment.

For what it's worth, that's my take...

Woody Johnson has been the best owner the Jets have had from a competitive stand point since Sonny Werblin. Three different head coaches have made the playoffs under his ownership and no coach has failed to do so at least once.

I'm pretty disgusted with the Jets right now and Woody shares in some of that but I don't doubt for a second that the change of ownership in 2000 could have gone a lot worse.

Forget football, how often does the owner/boss ever admit to screwing things up. I'd expect Sanchez to break Marino records before Woody admits to fucking things up.
