Grew up in Sussex County and then moved to Central FL for High School... Been around the world the last few years military, but I'll be back in FL before too long.
Born and raised in Astoria, NY. Went to Central PA for college (Penn State). Now I'm in Mahopac, Putnam County, NY. I notice there are more and more joining the Jet Nation from Upstate NY. No matter where I am, I am always a Jet fan.
I am from Union City, Indiana. Born in Union City, Ohio. I live on the borderline of two states. Yet I hate all three of the NFL teams around me. Makes for good family rivalries. Been a Jets fan since 1987. Good times so far. New here, so HOWDY!
Where I was born: Bushwick Bklyn Where I was raised: Fayettville NC Where I am at now: Central f'kn Texas
born in Elmwood Park, NJ, and now living in North Brunswick.... plenty of Jets fans around, prolly about 40-40-20 Jets-Giants-Iggles in this area.
I grew up in Montclair, New Jersey, raised by die hard Jets fans. I'm now living in Dallas, TX, where all they can talk about is T.O.'s broken finger. BOO FREAKING HOO! JETS FAN TILL DEATH (And they will probably be the cause of death) Wouldn't have it any other way!
born- Elizabeth, NJ raised in Cranford, NJ till I was almost ten moved to Sayreville, NJ now reside in Toms River, NJ In the summer of 1999, Aaron Glenn appeared at a Sear Auto Service shop in Old Bridge for an autograph session as a promotion for the store's grand opening. He told me he couldn't believe there were Jets fans "this far south". That was then. Now I'm almost 50 additional miles to the south. Here in Toms River, not counting bandwagon jumpers, I'd say it's 35-35-30 Jets-Giants-Eagles fans. I have noted this several times on this board- I am in such a location that I get New York and Philadelphia cable stations. There are legitimately three local NFL teams here.
Cakes, I was just in South Jersey visiting a friend last week (Somers Point). All I saw were Philly and Steeler fans. I was very out of place in my Jets shirt. I didn't notice any Giants/Jets fans, was I too far south?
I believe you were too far south. Edit- Yes, you were too far south to see too many Giants or Jets fan. I just looked at the map. Here in Toms River, I am actually closer to Philadelphia than your friend in Somers Point is to that city. http://www.infoplease.com/atlas/state/newjersey.html
Wow, didn't realize how far north Toms River really is. She used to commute there from Somers Point. Anyway, now I can see why I was so out of place and got funny looks. WHO CARES! :jets:
