Rex just said "out for a couple weeks at least"

Don't think they know for sure yet but it doesn't sound like nothing.

This game should make cuts on Tuesday much easier. The scounts better start scanning the cuts of other teams to replace the ones we are about to dump.

WTF, they DID score on Washington's backups.

Is there some sort of Mass-Psychosis proliferating through the States that I am yet unaffected by?

Yeah they did score on Washington's backups, but it took them all three quarters to do it, only to have our kicker shank the field goal. Sanchez almost had his shoulder destroyed because Rex didn't want to be embarrassed having not scored a touchdown with his first team offense.

More like he got rocked because of a whiff by a raw rookie who just lost the left guard battle for certain.

    ok but . . .

Originally you wrote that you realized Sanchez and the rest of the starting offense "would not have scored on" washington's backups, even though they DID (which you are now acknowledging) So . . .?

Sanchez did not look bad, he had no protection, basically hurried on every pass and the drops did not help.

Once Washington came back and scored on us, if we were to put Sanchez and the first stringers back in I do not believe we could have marched down the field and scored. 72 yards on 15 plays for the first score. Not too impressive.

Would that matter? Win or lose, the starters coming back in wasn't gonna happen in the 4th quarter of a meaningless game. And of this were a regular season game the scenario would have been completely different.

So far the offensive line is starting to worry me. They do not look as dominant as they did last year.

ahhh, I see. Well, that's an opinon. Usually, one can only "realize" facts. Hence, the confusion. Anyway, your point is well taken. The Jets played like shit tonight and were not impressive at all. But it's preseason. The Pats lost 36-35 to the Rams at home last night. The coaches hold back the vast majority of their plays and don't gameplan for opponents. These games mean nothing.

Agreed. The Colts gave up fucking 56 if I'm not mistaken.

The fact that Washington's 2nd team (and 3rd string QB) drove for a FG on our first team defense was embarrassing. Not too mention Sanchez's play tonight made me very nervous, and I'm not even gonna start with folk.

The point I'm trying to make is that the first team offense is not giving us the confidence that they can make make the Superbowl like Rex is proclaiming, let alone make the playoffs if they struggle this much trying to score on backups. Obviously the scenario of putting Sanchez back in after Brunell is not realistic.

Our offense has sucked in two preseason games. I might as well just not watch the Jets this year. Oh shucks.

The reality is, other than the 1s on defense there shouldn't be too much confidence right now. But, it is the preseason, and God forbid, we've had a lot of preseasons where we come out looking like world beaters and end up going 4-12 or 6-10. I see where you're coming from, because to a certain extent, I agree with you, I've been watching the same ball as you, but there's a lot of things (especially on offense) that are being held back.

Washington played to our overagressiveness, 2 quick screens and a dump pass, and those were the biggest plays that I saw after getting home from work. All is not as bad as it seems.

This goes beyond the left guard battle, our line used to beat people up and get to the second level to hit linebackers as well.

Our passing game has been garbage for two straight weeks now. We ran well this week but against Carolina, anyone without the initials LT looked like crap running the ball. We have an all star set of receivers, how can this not be working?
