Tech may have been the inferior team at that game, but you can't say they didn't deserve to be there. They were #3 in the BCS and won their conference.

You say you would much rather see #12 Florida who didn't even play in their conference championship game and got beat in their bowl game? And if you want to stick Missouri in their who are you bumping since you can't have three teams from the same conference?

Give KU a lot of credit. Mangino had them ready to play, they didnt get outplayed on STs, and their offense did very well against Bud Foster's D.

VT losing the bowl game doesnt mean they didnt deserve to there. I'm obviously no fan of VT, but to say they didnt belong there is just wrong.

VT earned their way into the BCS. They deserved to be there, even if they did suck in the bowl game. The teams that didn't deserve to be there are Hawaii and Illinois.

I think the poster above was trying to make a point relative to the folk who pre-game were insistant that Kansas didn't deserve to be in the game - if KU didn't deserve to be there, neither did VT on that showing.

Of course my own uneducated opinion is that both sides deserved to be there. Watched the Fiesta Bowl as well and both games were superb with the "good guys" winning in each. As a Scot I'm mentally compelled to back an underdog in most situations. :)
