Found a positive, optimistic look...

If you squint, you think you're looking at Chad Pennington.

Optimistic scenario is Mac and Gase are fired after this year. The hell with them. Sell the team Woody!

 

Does this guy run a tight ship? Is he a disciplinarian?

 

Im willing to give him a chance. The only two i had ahead of gase were mccarthy and monken. This could've been a lot worse in my opinion. Caldwell, ruhle, kingsbury etc.

 

He squeezes the ship so tight it breaks into tiny little pieces.

 

He's like the Kraken.

 

The only thing that will save this dude is if the W s keep coming ...a winning season will make us all have a second guess

That said ...we are prob due for some heavy mediocrity..7-9 here we come, one year of 8-8 with some luck..

Exactly how I feel about Gase.
I do believe hes a good football mind and could potentially be good for Darnold.

But like you said he's a bit of an asshole.
Guys like Mangini and Haley, they don't motivate players.
As soon as there is adversity the players bail on them and it all unravels.

Let's just hope he learns to adjust his approach.
Would have been last on my list.
I do like Vance for DC tho.

 

Some of the things that are being said of Gase were also said of Bill Parcells.

 

I showed my mom a picture of Adam Gase and told her we had Pennington for a head coach and she ate it up until she saw online it was this guy "Adam Gase"

 

Tell her it's his pen name.

 

I am willing to see this through and look on the bright side. The potential is really high, if it works, I think it will work big. He has to change the way he handles the press though, and possibly some of his players. Once again, Im banking on Stephen Ross being the bigger asshole here.

 

I live in South Florida too and the entire Dolphins front office has been worse than the Jets. Tannehill was always banged up or out and they never had any continuity during Gase's tenure. Treadmill team. Everyone getting injured just when they were turning a corner.

This will come down to the development of Darnold which Gase will be tasked with, and the rest will come down to the front office making great decisions during free agency and the draft.

Let's get great players here first and the rest will take care of itself. That is on Mac. Also, if we do get great players and Gase sucks, McCarthy is available next season after a year of rest.

I doubt he would want to come to the Jets after we shafted him like that. We probably burnt that bridge...

 

I really don't care if he comes or not. He's probably burnt out anyway. My concern is more to do with Mac, free agency, draft and development of Darnold. The head coach can always be canned. We need talent on the field.

 

Hopefully Jets pick 1st overall next spring [1]
Hopefully Gase and Mac are BOTH fired by then [2]
