This is 100% accurate. Not to mention that no decent GM or OC wants this job because of the aforementioned cap issues and the fact that they are stuck with a lame duck HC for at least a year.

Sad to say that we have not hit rock bottom. I would say that next season is likely going to make 2012 look like the glory days.

Why is it that Rex gets a pass? He fucking sucked by keeping Muck in there.

That's the obvious. What I saw was loads of young players on their first contracts making big plays all over the field.

Of all the things I think were settled watching these playoff games it's that the Jets need SPEED on offense!

    -49ers with Kaepernick, Crabtree
-Ravens with Rice, Torrey Smith, even that "never-was" Jacoby Jones made a huge play because of his speed
-Atlanta with Julio Jones and Roddy White

(pats don't need speed they have Brady)

Watching these games I saw a lot of back and forth football but big plays made by fast individuals changed the games. The Jets might have the slowest offensive skill players I've seen in recent memory. They should take notes from these games and get some speed in the offseason (better said than done, I suppose)..

How'd that high powered offense look in playoffs last year when they had to play outside in Jan?

I like Matt Ryan, but the D is a little soft and they are not a good team in cold weather.
We don't play in a dome.

We do need a QB, and need to continue investing on the Oline.
Most teams still in the playoffs have a QB, have Oline, and can play defense.
Even the Pats are started to play decent defense, which is what might get them over the hump this year.

I don't see why the cap issues should scare off a potential candidate. If anything it proves that Woody is willing to spend stupid money to get over the hump.

I can see the cap issues scaring off candidates if they can only get 3 year deals. Two years cleaning up that mess & then only having one year left to prove you deserve the job.

I'm very interested to see the length of contract this new GM gets. If it's only 3 years, then I'm thinking cap situation combined with contract length scared off candidates.

no it isnt, thats speculation onyour behalf because im willing to let revis go. how do you know how he will be when he comes back? guarantee he isnt the same. injuries hurt playing ability, thats a medical fact, so dont act like they dont. he did hold out did he not? was he being a team player, or a me first player? i guess you liked tannenbum didnt you? would you give revis what he is gonna want?

It's certainly not overrated. At the very least, the defense won't lose games for you.

I didn't say it wasn't good. It was pretty good. It wasn't underrated by any means.

Balance. When you are tilted to one side, one bad day on that side ends you.

yup. adrian peterson would have shattered the rushing record if he hadn't blown out his knee last year
