I think Cleveland's 2-11 record is moreso a product of Crennel's mess than Mangini's coaching. Mangini has aquired a shitload of draft picks for them too, and, despite what people here think about him, deserves time to turn that team around.
I think that is pretty fair. That team was saddled with a lot of issues already when he took over. He won't have long though. He's going to have to make some big strides by next season if he wants to keep his spot there in Cleveland.
That was a big win for Eric Mangini last night. Maybe the biggest of his career, next to the Jets-Pats win his first season. He'd better give nice Christmas gifts to Josh Cribbs and Rob Ryan. Like contract extensions.
My favorite part last night watchinig the highlights was seeing Mangini implement his bread and butter 3-8 defense, with only 3 down lineman rushing the passer. Miraculously, for that specific instance they were showing in the highlight, they'd managed to get a sack. The 3-8 lives to see another day.
I think it would be a mistake for the Browns to not keep Mangini for at least 3 years. I could see firing him after 2 if they manage to get worse or don't improve.
You are probably right on this one. Mangini inherited a Browns team that was actually worse than the Jets team he got from Herm. They should have at least one winning season in the next three years, then he will get fired and the new coach will fill in the pieces.

D. Andersen had a good season the year Braylon had a good year, 2 seasons ago and he couldn't do anything right for Eric. Is it the players or the system? Or the players not wanting to play in the system?
anderson had one good year... sadly the same can be said about edwards. quinn is just terrible. I doubt either could find backup jobs on any other team. I think it's those two specific players holding the team back more then mangini's coaching.

He's the best overall player, and probably the best QB on that roster as well. Quinn and Anderson are straight garbage, the Browns should be looking QB in the first round or trying to build the offense exclusively around the wildcat.
