Bollinger is NFL starting material with the right supporting cast. We could not have a better back up in a rebuilding year. As I have said previously, I am not opposed to having him start the first few games to let penny heal further and let the line gel. It just makes sense.

IF the Jets decide to take a Cutler in round 1, I would not have a problem with Bollinger as the "veteran" backup. To invest in Chad, Cutler, and a Kitna is beyond excessive with all of the other holes on this team.

I think your own opinions have clouded your ability to recognize suckiness. Thus, you are hoping for group support in your perception of suckiness and are blinded by the reality of Bollingers non-suckiness leaving you nothing but your own suckiness to contemplate.

I like Bollinger as well. He would have been much better if the running game was kept consistent. They didn't run the ball very effectively until Martin went out of the lineup, and Herman Edwards poor decision making made Bollinger look worse on occasion. Bollinger and a rookie would not be so bad behind Pennington.

Bolly had some great games last year, when many of his teammates were on IR and others, including the head coach, had all but packed it in. I think some Jets fans are down on Bollinger for beating their expectations, and like Herm, unwilling to give the guy a break.

With a tattered OL likely now with the loss of our best lineman by far, I want a QB who can run around in the pocket and burn you deep. Bollinger can do that. Chad, for all his mental acuity, can't, at least not in his current physical condition and perhaps, not ever. And expecting someone to come out of college and shine against NFL teams right away isn't going to work, either. The quickest way to turn Matt Leinart into Rainman is to put him behind the Jet's offensive line in '06.

Brooks Bollinger is the PERFECT QB to have.....

    as a 3rd stringer!

I don't know where this 6'1" stuff comes from, but Bolly is 5'11" tops. He'd better be able to scramble because he's a scrawny kid.

Look, I like him and his competitiveness, but c'mon folks. Bolly is what he is...a 3rd stringer, especially on a winning team. Nothing more, nothing less.

No worse than Tannenbaum fawning over his dear, close and best friend Eric Mangini.
