I wish that they would stick to Athens, Greece where this shit started and then pick a regular gig in the Alps somewhere for the Winter. Jobs, blah blah Revenue, blah blah. People just don't know the wreckage. Turin, there are squatters in falling down shit housing units, and what Putin did to Sochi and the surrounding environs is seriously unconscionable. It was pristine, who gives a chuck about wildlife? People got dispaced, villages got bulldozed, you name it. Kids skateboard mostly. It created a deserted polluted shithole wasteland and they still can't get rid of the garbage. Supposedly it's recovering. Whatever. Rio with raw sewage gushing. Beijing with athletes wearing gas masks and breathing canned oxygen, just stop it. JUST PICK A PERMANENT PLACE.
I don't know if Greece has the same caliber drag queens as Paris. We need to keep things diverse up in here.
Probably the most I’ve ever watched the Olympics in my life actually. I’m enjoying it this year, women’s gymnastics, soccer and basketball primarily are my favorite but even swimming has my interest
Olympics watching some some sports once every 4 years 4 golds overnight to australia , 18 in total , record number for any olympics ,always fighting above their weight class , swimming away from sharks has its advantages
Absolutely amazing performance by Steph Curry in the basketball finals, after his amazing performance in the semis. Wembanyama was tremendously impressive also.
France in 4 years is going to be scary. The first two players selected in this year's NBA draft were French.
I really enjoyed this Olympics. I've watched more events in this one than any other for the past 2 decades. I was pretty much mesmerized by "Breaking" which is the Olympic name for break dancing. I think France deserves a lot of credit for bringing it into the games. I hear the U.S. games in L.A. in 4 years will not have it, which is strange to me. It's amazing that this phenomenon, which originated in the U.S., has been adopted by so many other countries. I hope they reconsider and bring it back.
I've GREATLY enjoyed watching these Olympic games. Before now I never got into it. What a spectacle. The soccer, basketball my goodness the last 2 games team USA played especially the Serbia game felt like playoff games. Gymastics, track, last night I watched a bit of the mens diving competition. Beach volleyball etc. Right now I'm watching the gold medal women's volleyball game unfortunately team USA is down to Italy at the moment. Still great fun to watch. I'm looking forward to the womens basketball gold medal game later today. Only difficult thing is taking it all in there's so much stuff going on. The schedules. It's easy to miss events. A coworker told me the 2028 games will be in Los Angeles. I've enjoyed these games so much I'm thinking about going there to see some events in person.
Dude went off, especially in the gold medal game, I thought for sure that would earn him MVP, but they gave it to Lebron.
That MVP award is kind of meaningless because they only give it when they feel like it. They introduced it in 2004 but have only awarded it 3 times out of 6: 2004 Manu Ginobili, 2021 Durant, 2024 LeBron.
there's a photo of Curry getting that 3 off in front of Wemby and its incredible. Wemby is in the air, a whole multiple feet above Curry and Curry somehow got it off AND made it, he's like flicking his wrist from falling back and off the side ive never been a big fan of the way Curry plays, I kinda dislike it actually but damn he was good down the stretch in Paris
LeBron did lead the team in every category points, rebs, assists and without his triple-double against Serbia they'd been playin for bronze. I got no problem with him being named MVP
This might be the last Olympics we truly dominate. The ridiculous NIL and open free agency in US college sports is crushing the non-revenue sports like track, swimming, most women’s sports, etc. Even the big boys are being forced to make big cuts to these sports in order to compete in priority sports like football and basketball
