Your post is the stupid one

Here is the post my post was directed to which had ZERO repeat ZERO reference to RRs stubbornness

Ryan is a spectacular defensive mind and he's got a majority if not all of the right coaching pieces in place. Its a matter of getting the right players to step up.

If you bring in a GM who's offensive minded like Polian, they may have a lot more input into the O, as BB said, and Ryan might be OK with that.

I think we are dissing Rex as a thick headed stubborn coach who wants all things his way. From an offensive perspective, as well as an HC perspective, he is a lot more flexible. We are not giving him enough credit for going out and talking to other former HCs and prominent coaches and even players in the league. Joe Gibbs, Tom Moore, Steve Young. And this is what the media has fed us. You have to think he's probably spoken to a lot more people.

Sheesh have to some guts to at least say RR maybe stubborn here or there

You need not worry since I doubt U R older enough to have seen a rebuilding project but you will be seeing it beginning this season & if the NYJs have a dreadful 2012 season then most likely RR will not returned so I would recommend U find some other NYJ figure to hand your hat on

Ah yes Coughin was picked when RR avowed we were the best team in NYC

Belly was chosen because of RRs comment about Belly SB rings

Norv was chosen for the RR remark that if he was HC of that team they would already have a SB ring

Very true, but there were newspapers and regular radio, plus if you lived in the area the Art Rust Jr. sports show. We werent in the Pony Express days!

These sunshiners were hilarious this season. After the Baltimore loss they were saying "we'll be alright stop bitching" this was their attitude after every bad loss. I guess the Miami loss finally made them realize that the criticism and concern was warranted.

Nah. Sunshiners still think Rex and Sanchez are in a good position to win the SB next year.

Sunshiners refuse to believe that this era of the Jets isn't different from any other era until proven otherwise.

Yes. Getting to the AFCG two straight years in a row and finishing with an even record the third year is clearly cause for concern. Kotite days are back again!

Please pin this thread and post all subsequent complaining posts in here. Our board has been flooded with negativity as of late. I'd much rather there be an official butthurt fan thread instead of people bashing Rex and Mark Sanchez with new threads every week.

There's nothing wrong with being optimistic, in fact when you have a good outlook on life in general things usually work out better in the long run. Less stress = longer life. Football is only a game, so as a fan I can't really get angry about the past, I just look to the future. I understand many of you have been a fan for 30+ years, and it has been very rough, but I genuinely believe that our team is developing to be a contender for the long haul. Our coach and QB are still only going into their 4th seasons. I expect the mess from this year to be cleaned up and move forward next year in a new offensive system that we desperately need.

I may not have been at it as long as some of you guys :) But I did start rooting for the Jets during the low tide and lived through some of the uglier Jet seasons with my
optimisim fully intact. I've was a fairly passive and upbeat Jet fan throughout the 90's the losing, the winning, and the losing of the winning when our best shot at SB went up in smoke.

This year however sticks in the craw. We got blown up this year with our own ordinance. If that wasn't bad enough; we have everybody standing around and taking shots at us right up to and after the season ends they are still talking smack. Well sirs I don't like it one damn bit, none of us should.

Infact we should all be mad as hell and come together as a fan base. Rather than splitting into pro Manning or pro Sanchez camps and getting at each other we should put it where it needs to be; smack dab on the head of the haters. No matter what you think our chances may be next year its now them against us and that's how I want our team to play next year.

The entire team needs to see whats going on and get mean, REAL MEAN. Rex and Co need to do whatever is needed to get these guys fired up and ready to smash the NFL in its fucking mouth... for real this time. Maybe we are little brother or whatever but rather than being the guy that gets his head smushed into a wall and cries to mommy. We should be the rabid little bastard that's going bit the ever living shit out of you and takes a chunk of flesh whenever you are dumb enough to try.

This season has turned me from a positive/passive Jet fan into rabid diehard. Alright Jets fans its us against them(them being everybody and their mother now).

I'm 38 and have been a fan since i could understand what i was watching. I have gone through the times where i said out loud " I cant do his any more". I have since been conditioned to hope for the best but expect the worst (Typical jets shit). I have been to numerous Jets games including the midnight Miracle ; Where i flew in From Florida and had to catch my flight home that night , but was so drunk that I said "Fuck it" its been a long time since I had been back at the meadowlands and decided I would catch the flight out the following morning. What a terrific drunken stupor that was. I have been to Tampa and burned keyshawn's jersey in the parking lot and had Cops run up to us at the end of that game and said " You guys need to get out right now". I have had to have a police escort out of Fox Borough and had to dodge punches coming around the cops who were just letting it happen. I have the Jets logo tattooed on my Body , so I'm in this for life. My Children are also avid Jets fans probably because i am , but in My son I see he has genuinely taken to them of his own accord. He also plays football and has a liking of other teams , but his main affiliation is to the jets.

I am Hopeful for the years to come and I KNOW i will see a Champion like My father did when he was a young adult with his father. Till death due us part!

Been a Darksider for over 35 years.

I laughed at the Playoffs thread this year and battled the sunshiners and any chance of the playoffs based on what was going on on the field.

THAT SAID.... When the new season 2012 begins my hopes and expectations will be EXACTLY what they were last year...... Granted I never predicted 11+ wins and a Super Bowl. Any confidence I have is mostly with Rex Ryan and IMO his back up against the wall right now to right this ship plus an offense that is on the same page without the shcotty Trickery....

As Darksider and down as i was from the Dallas game on this past year, a lot of fans don't get just how close teams and games are in todays NFL and how a team can easily "Spiral" all the way to ummmm, 8-8 or.... Get HEALTHY and a spark like the Giants did.....

Not even Fatcessa would have called the Giants >>> The Jets at many times this season.

The teams aren't that far off....

This is coming from a Darksider who used to have to be put in isolation during Jets games and has broken TV's and objects.... yeah, I've had a "JET" issue in my life like many long time Jet fans...But, come on..... PFFFFFFFT, I've been thru soooo much worse than this as a fan, this is nothing..... we're looking at an 8-8 team with IMO a coach i wouldn't trade for any... Who knows he needs to spark the Defense and IMO now has an offense he can trust..

Knock off the penalties and can my 8-8 Jets win 1 more game? 2 More games and make a run?

Is this team better than the 2 Championship games - I say it very well can be.

As much as a I never wanted Any part of Sanchez since well before the draft - He is going to be steps ahead of the past few years with a full offseason and he got ZERO help from any facet of the team this year ZERO - not one aspect of the NY Jets was improved or above average inclduing ST, WR, RB, OL, and the entire Defense and coaching.

    BRING IT!!!

I thought it would be fun to revisit this thread almost 12 years later. Not much has changed. I no longer say stupid things like "bright-eyed bushy tailed optimists" , but the general principles have remained exactly as they were then.

Holy fuck, it was only when I saw a post from championjets1969 (aka Jacob Marley) that I realised this was a bumped thread from 2012!

The main difference now is it isn't so much about the whole team as it is this polarizing quarterback. There are a few on here who still think he's going to be a long term solution, and then there are the realists who see him for what he is: the backup quarterback.

Yeah but regardless of the specific circumstances, it's still the same vicious cycle. Look at what's gone on since this thread was created.

I was looking at the timing for this thread. It was started right after the Sparano hire but before the Tebow trade. We had so much fun in store for us.

And take a look at how many people insisted that it was different "this time". Hindsight is always fun, but it's depressing as well in this instance.
