LOL Fitz passed all concussion tests today so people can stop trying to use their opinion as a valid arguement. Nobody outside of a few on here will say Geno should be out there because they'd be going against the thousands of Geno slander posts they dropped on here over the last 2 years.
Exactly....it's just another way for people to say look that's how they feel about Geno (he sucks lol lol) And if that were the case (putting in concussed Fitz over Geno) then we have more issues than we even imagined....would seriously say more about our coaching staff than anything else and not in a good way Opinions change though...I originally wanted to see Geno in this offense and I still said that up until the Redskins game. Then I was like you know what? Fitz is doing well and the team is riding high so let's see how this goes.....Well we are where we are now and I want to again see Geno over this mirage in Fitz I'm not expecting much but it really won't kill us to make the change and see what happens....I'm sure there are some that feel the same way as me...you don't have to be so one sided Geno or Fitz Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
No i was talking about this season when i said a long time ago. Geno was named the starting QB of this football team MAY 20th 2015. Geno also had an outstanding offseason until the IK bullshit.
I feel the same exact way as you but i get called a Genobot for it lmao. Theres a post where i even said the same thing "I was never a believer of Fitz until the 19 yard TD run and crazy celebration in the endzone" .. he won me over with that. Can't Lie. But that has changed since then... big time. i look at our QB's every sunday no matter who it is and scream "THEY ARE WHO WE THOUGHT THEY WERE!!!"
I disagree. There's nothing to be gained by continuing to start Fitz. He has no upside. His play the last several games has been as bad or worse than Geno. At least with Geno in the game there's the threat of a long pass and he's a better running option than Fitz. Sometimes just making a change can give a team a spark. I doubt it, but if the team has already decided to move on from Geno, perhaps in starting him they can drum up some trade interest from another team if he plays as well as he has in some other late season games. He may even surprise and while he'll still make some bonehead plays, he could show the improvement that he showed prior to getting punched, and could get the team playing with energy and fire and win most of the rest of their games. It's worth a shot. If Fitz continues to start and continues to play poorly, he'll wear out his welcome here, and may not even be serviceable as a backup next season. Bowles can say that he's sitting Fitz due to the injuries and give him a chance to heal, or wants to see what he has in Geno or if Geno can give the team a spark. Even if the team made the playoffs, more than likely, they're one and done, unless the D starts playing like they did early in the season. If things don't get better, it won't matter who the starting QB is. A loss is a loss. If you're right about Geno, at least if they started Geno now, no one could claim they never gave Geno a real chance and it would help all to see that Geno isn't the answer and the team would be right to move on from him. That should shut up the "geno bots" as you put it and lay the issue to rest once and for all. Fitz isn't getting the job done. Petty isn't ready, and may not be by the last 2 games. We all know that as the QB goes, so goes the team. With Fitz banged up and playing poorly, there is no legitimate reason for not playing Geno.
How about we throw some names into it, instead? Here are some (the more recognizable) names from the QB Free Agent Cesspool whence came T.J. Yates, he who handed us our asses: Jason Campbell Josh Freeman Mike Kafka Christian Ponder Ryan Lindley John Skelton Rex Grossman I'd say Ryan Fitzpatrick and Geno Smith fit right in with that list of names. Fitz more on the Jason Campbell/Christian Ponder "we know what we have, and it's limited (read SUCKY)" end of the spectrum. Geno on the Rex Grossman/Josh Freeman "we know what we have, and we're considering suicide" end of the spectrum.
That was not true before he got injured. He was making plays and showing improvement. If the only reason that Brick grabbed Fitz was because he didn't want Geno on the field, then he should have his ass kicked, benched or cut. You don't know that Smith drops that pass if Geno threw it. In fact, a different play may have been called altogether. The only thing that is a failure point is your logic and reasoning in this post.
Petty isn't ready. He said so himself. Putting Petty on the field now would be dumb and slow his development.
A lot of what you say in this post is true, but not the part about Fitz still playing well. Three 4th qtr interceptions in the last 2 games is NOT playing well! Sure it hurts with the starting C and RG out, but you can't use that as an excuse. You have to adjust or compensate for the drop off in play of the OL. That's all the more reason why starting Geno could be the answer. He's faster, more mobile, and has a stronger arm. They could roll him out to his left to avoid the rush. Enunwa a key part of the offense? ROFLMAO He can't even catch the ball half the time. The only thing about his game that made him "key" was blocking for Ivory.
He said that weeks ago and every week he picks up a little bit more. And next week it will be more and the week after that. I'm not advocating putting him on the field now, joking aside, I've been pretty consistent that I only put him out there if we're mathematically eliminated. I don't think putting him out there for the last 2-3 games with a simplified playbook will have any detrimental effect on his development. I give him much higher grades on maturity than that. _
When a full fledged Genobot who has spent 95% of his posts whining and bitching about Geno decides to start an infantile social experiment with a completely transparent agenda, you're damned right I am. _
That expression cracks me up every time I see it. The thing is, it's not really appropriate, because we know that when you're on fire, the thing to do is to drop and roll, not run.
I haven't paid attention to what the majority of his posts have been. He has a logical point that you can't see because of your hatred for Geno. Even if he didn't, you're better than that.
You ppl act like geno smith has never won a game in this league. ....but we got our ass handed to us by a third string qb.....but let still wish for Fitz magic. Lol.
You're wrong. Even when Fitz got healthy, Geno was still outplaying him and had done nothing to lose the starting spot. Fitz became the starter only because of Geno's broken jaw.
Well it's an ongoing thing and it was a weak attempt to hide his affiliation for a single player over the team. I don't hate Geno. I just think he's a really bad QB with zero football IQ. I guess I see what the coaching staff sees. Are they better than that? _
There are parts left out of your logic scenario. Like if the original starter was terrible and the coach had to hire a guy to break his jaw to ensure he wouldn't start.
"Fitzpatrick is better than Geno" is not the same as "Fitzpatrick is good". Once again (with feeling) ... "Fitzpatrick is better than Geno" is not the same as "Fitzpatrick is good".
Well, well, here we go again. No more fun in Jetsville. It's time to panic. Bowles needs to get fired. Fitz needs to be replaced now. The jets lynching mob is out in mass. The wheels are coming off the wagon What's gonna take to correct this mess? IMHO, where there is smoke there is fire but the problems manifested over the last 4 weeks are far deeper than Fitz interceptions or Bowles rookie clock management errors. There is a major lack of overall players execution almost across the board. They look lost. That is a black eye on both the coaching staff and on the players. To start with, our defense is embarrassing, and a far cry from the expectations of preseason. Our OL gets totally man handled by good teams. Our receivers are dropping key catches and TD winning passes left and right. The running game has dwindled since week 3. Our MUCH TALKED ABOUT secondary is porous, our LBs slower than molasses. I think we are witnessing the obvious. The opposition has very quickly identified our weaknesses and adjusted their game plan accordingly. As a result we get outplayed every weak by rookies and veterans alike. We, on the other hand are still trying to do the same as in week one, which ain't working, AND to add insult to injury we are not even executing the fundamentals properly. Rookie or not, it shouldn't have taken the CS that long to figure it out. It's time to infuse this team with new blood, and a much more strategic team specific game plan. This Sunday's game was an embarrassment. Instead of improving each week we are doing the opposite. We are going in the opposite direction.
