I was waiting for this to show up here. The fact that no beat reporters, or real insiders have confirmed this... it's just more media noise. In all honesty, I doubt anyone in the organization would leak a story like this, with 2 games left... maybe after the 'Fins game it would be more newsworthy. We'll know soon enough where things are heading.
It really depends on who we get. If we resign White or sign a young vet like Carr or Jimmy G, then Wilson is probably traded. If we sign Brady or trade for Rodgers, then I think we keep Zach as the backup to develop once either retires.
No one is saying there isn’t blame to go around but Zach constructed 3 drives and 17 points against a garbage defense that Sam Darnold tore to shreds today. That isn’t good enough in today’s NFL against a bottom tier defense.
If we get a Rodgers or Brady I would agree to keep Zach as well. He could possibly learn something from them at least work habit wise. Either guys presence would be enough to deter the Zach locker room hatred as well. If you bring in a Minshew or obviously go with a Mike White then he needs to go ASAP.
Never thought much of him as a QB, but seemed like a solid young man.... The grandson of the Marlboro Man, LB turned QB..... you knew there was tough guy in there despite how many ghosts he saw.
I said he "could". Maturity combined being around legends of the game can have an impact on a young player. Saleh is not the one teaching Zach or showing him how to be a mature QB. I'm just saying, but I want Zach off this team for good.
I just don't think on a whole NFL level that he's that big a bust. As others have alluded to there have been non-QB picks that were surrounded by HoF talent and QB picks where there was genuine talk about who the #1 should be. In a crazy reality where there's no QB premium in the draft then ZW is/was a 3rd/4th round prospect but sitting at #2 and having to choose between Wilson, Fields, Jones and Lance.....
