They gave up a lot. I was intrigued but the bottom line is the Bears are not a particularly well run franchise and they forked over a lot. Time will tell if it works out for them just like time would tell if it worked out for us. I'm not especially sold on Trubisky going forward.

We still have our picks. We still have a TON of cap space to improve the team in a lot of ways. Mack would've been nice but you can win a Super Bowl without him. We will find our pass rusher. It didn't have to be Khalil Mack. The draft will have pass rushers

It won't be a knee jerk. It's simply plan B. You have to have one if plan A falls through. It shows our GM is prepared to shift gears and still fill a need.

Sam Darnold was a plan B as well.

We could've gotten Mack but the price was too steep. Mac probably thought it would impede his ability to bolster the roster in other areas down the line

We're not as far as you think if Darnold becomes a good QB (who eventually matures into a great prime QB) we are a fringe playoff team this year. With our cap space and the picks we have, 2019 is when our window of opportunity to really compete opens. This team has come a long way since last year Week 1

Maybe Mac just got out bid or maybe he got cute ? I would love to know what exactly the Jets offered. That said IF IF IF Fowler is indeed plan B then IMO plan B blows. Yes he's cheaper but yes he's no where near the player Mack is and his baggage is way too much for me at any price .

    Barf

People are going to be seriously misplacing blame when the secondary gets torn apart because they have to cover for 4 seconds w every play.

Hopefully someone better than anyone we have will shake free and be signed by the Jets. How do you feel about Robert Ayers? He's 32 and only lasted a day with the Lions, but he's still probably better than anyone we have if healthy.

Noah Spence from the Bucs might be cut or traded. A lot of us wanted him on the Jets. Mac should call the Bucs

Gotta consider all options considering the state of the position.

    No they shouldn't...
Noah Spence, Randy Gregory.......every year come draft time people are calling for us to draft bums like these guys.
    and they never work out.

I really can't believe a team coughed up two 1sts..
Never thought that would happen with how rookie contracts are now.

Bears overpaid imo...I love Mack as a player but that's just too steep a cost.

He had 5.5 sacks last year. Jets need better players at that position. It's worth a shot no?

Randy was a fuck up no doubt, hes back in the league now.

Oh man, the Bears replenished a 2??

I’d have done that in a heartbeat

Not at the expense of a draft pick.

He's had such an underwhelming summer that the Bucs are about to release him.
I wouldn't give up anything for that, and not sure I'd cut anyone for that.

    That's insane! 2 firsts, a 3rd and a 6th for one player and a 2nd? Sorry, that is a horrible deal imo.

I probably wouldn't make a trade, but I'd consider finding a spot for him. We have no one that can rush the passer on the outside.

We will have to see how the final cuts look

For the Bears the deal might be good. They look to be a playoff team. They have one of the best secondaries in the league, good line, receivers and running game. They are ready now.

For the Jets that would've been a horrible trade. We need to get Sam all the help he can get

Kind of sounds like we may have had the better offer. The Raiders however wanted top keep him out of the AFC. Nothing you can do about that.

The Jets tried. They deserve to be ripped a lot of times but this doesn't seem like one of those times

Same here bro. I’d made that deal in a second.

Mack will be in the Hall of Fame someday.

He was there for the taking and they are worried about draft picks SMH

He's far from perfect but he's only 24 and lightning quick off the line and tenacious to the QB. Always looking for the strip too. He fills a need and is incredibly difficult to block. 10+ years sack potential. It's not Mack. Nobody is at Macks level but Dante Fowler would raise this D up a level too. Just watching his highlights you can see the immense potential that is still there

Or maybe they just weren't trading him within the AFC. We may have bested the Bears offer wise
