you can make the same case for an elite QB with an elite pass rusher as well. If you look at the top 15 all time rushers like 12 of them never won a SB. RB in todays NFL isn't a really important position. It's more of a passing league then it's ever been. the whole grind the ball and play defense doens't work like it used to. Now a QB and o-line and pass rusher is a better way to win, but of course the 1 thing that hasn't changed is games are still won in the trenches. more often then not the team that protects the QB and opens up running lanes on offense will win. We need to improve our pass rush and o-line before RB. not to mention RBs die off by like age 29 in the NFL

If we could do this without giving two 1st rounders, I'd do it. The one benefit we have over a team like the Packers, is that our 1st rounders are expected to be very high draft picks. What about this Jets give 2019 1st round pick 2020 2nd round pick CB Morris Claiborne Jets receive Mack. Raiders could use CB help, we have a bit of a surplus in our secondary. I know what you're thinking. We'd be without a 2nd rounder 3 years in a row? ...well. What if we wait for a starting QB to be injured and trade Teddy for a 2nd rounder. That's a big IF, but I think whatever compensation we get for Teddy will be combat the draft pick shortage. I know, I know, 1st rounder + 2nd rounder + Claiborne seems a little undervalued based on projected trades out there, but if we end up giving two 1st rounders we damage the progress of building this team. We badly need OL and pass rush help. Both. I say Macc should offer up a 1st rounder and 2nd rounder + a player package MAX. If they ask for another 1st rounder, we should be out.
Ridiculous! Give up our #1 pick, our #2 starting CB, AND our 2020 2nd round pick???? No effing way. We don't have a surplus at CB. We have decent depth, but not even enough where we could afford to give up one of them, much less one of our starters.
Gimmie a break dude... he didn't fumble, he flipped the ball to the other team. Nobody has EVER done that in the entire history of the NFL.
I was at the same game & had a pretty good view of what happened on that play.The second the injury occured is when he immediately let go of the ball. Yes we’re all taught to hang onto the ball no matter what at a very young age.Yes Holmes was an overpaid jerk.. But I think this whole stigma is truly ridiculous & just sour grapes over a player fans didnt like & one of the most memorable blowout losses in recent memory. There are plenty of other reasons to hate Holmes than fumbling a ball on a gruesome injury in the middle of a blow out loss.
