You don't break your orbital in a fall. Your a robber you see a 6'3 215 pound man. A . You going to try and Mug him B PIck up a two by four and hit in the head.

This sucks as much as i dont like the raiders this guys story is pretty sad. When a teammate dies in your arms i couldnt imagine ever being the same again especially a young kid, not sure how old darrent williams was when he passed.

I was silently pulling for him to have a least a decent season to try and move on. But apparently he hasnt learned to much if he was balling in a club like that...

    Sad just sad...

Reports are that he left Body English (at the Hard Rock) at 3:30am and then was found at 7:10am. [EDIT: Joe your of timeline is right, mine is wrong. There has been no connection established between the two events to-date. EDIT 2: The reports corrected the timeline that he was out late on Saturday night and Sunday evening/Monday morning and then found later Monday morning.]

There is always more than the initial story, but, regardless, it is an unfortunate situation for a guy that has been through a lot. Whatever you think about his as a player and professional is meaningless when the dude is in the hospital.

I hope he can make yet another comeback.

I agree with you. He is a victim here but I can't help but wonder what it takes for these multi-millionaires to realize that there's a target on their back that gets bigger when they buy 15 bottles of Dom and spray people with it.

I hope he's okay, and I hope this is a wakeup call too...

I broke my orbital a little while back, it is a very painful and uncomfortable injury. Hopefully in Javon's case, he can still move his eye in the direction he wants it to move, if not expect one eye to go right and the injured eye to stay in the same spot at all times even after any surgical procedures. Lucily in my case, that didn't happen and I don't look like Derrick Strait's NFL Mug shot. (google image it... you'll get a little chuckle)

You guys remember that thread? It was on NFL Sunday and we ended up coming out with the victory!

Dead weight will do ya, because you're not breaking your fall. That's a lot of force. You'd be surprised.

If he was doing something he shouldn't have been, he may say he doesn't remember even if he does. Why can't these guys just party at home? It's so stupid. Not that anyone should deny themselves a night out and a good time, but it ends badly so many times for all the wrong reasons you'd think they'd get a clue.

Anyway, I hope he's alright. Nobody deserves a busted face, especially if he was minding his own business. The thing is, alcohol can fuel the smallest trifles that would otherwise be completely blown off into a bad, bad scene. Nothing but conjecture all around, so that was really a whole lot of nothing.

In this May 10, 2006 file photo, Denver Broncos wide receiver Javon Walker jokes with reporters during a news conference at the team's headquarters in Denver. A police spokesman said Walker, now with the Oakland Raiders, was found unconscious on a Las Vegas street after apparently being the victim of a robbery. Police spokesman Bill Cassell said in a statement that Walker was taken to a hospital with "significant injuries" after being found early Monday, June 16, 2008 on a street off the Las Vegas Strip.

LAS VEGAS (AP)—Oakland Raiders wide receiver Javon Walker could be released from the hospital Tuesday, a day after he was beaten, robbed and left unconscious on a Las Vegas street after a night of partying, police said.

A large amount of cash and some jewelry were taken from Walker, who suffered “significant injuries,” police said.

Police Lt. Clinton Nichols said detectives are retracing Walker’s activities in the hours before he was found injured Monday morning on a street off the Las Vegas Strip.

“That’s one of the first things we do, backtrack what he did and where he stayed,” Nichols said, adding that the investigation was still in the early stages. “We knew there was a large amount of cash taken, and some jewelry.”

Nichols said he believed Walker would be released after a 24-hour stay at the hospital. A hospital spokesman said he had no immediate information about Walker’s condition.

A Raiders spokesman said the team was in the process of gathering information and had no further comment.

On Monday, police Officer Bill Cassell said in a statement that Walker was taken to a hospital with “significant injuries” and was in fair condition at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center.

Walker, 29, signed a six-year, $55 million deal with the Raiders after being released by the Denver Broncos in February.

Walker injured his right knee for the second time in his career last season and was limited to eight games and 26 catches in 2007.

Walker was a first-round draft pick by the Green Bay Packers in 2001 and had a breakout season in 2004 with 89 catches for 1,382 yards and 12 touchdowns.

He tore a ligament in his right knee the next season and played only one game.

He was traded to Denver in 2006 and bounced back with 69 catches for 1,084 yards and eight touchdowns.

you would've thought he'd learn his lesson from the Darrent Williams incident.

That's the bottom line, I think. I like to rush to rash judgments based on circumstantial evidence, so here's my interpretation of the events:

Thug #1: "Yo, C-Bey! Ain't that that punk what sprayed champagne all over yo girl Saturday night at the club?"

Thug #2: "Yeah, yeah it is! Mutha fugga thinkin he all that just cuz he play ball? Aw hell no! That l'il bitch needs to get got!"

Thug #1: "Truth. Les jump this punk-ass. Here: you can borrow my orbital-fracturing device."

Thug #2: "Why thank you. Shall we?"

And the rest is a matter of police record. Now I'm not positive about this, but didn't Brandon Marshall spray a bunch of people with champagne the night Darrent Williams was killed? Shouldn't that have served as an adequate lesson that your average club-goer prefers not to be sprayed with beverages, regardless of their cost?

"Shit! Somebody just spilled booze all over my new Armani! This is bullshit! I'm gonna... wait... (sniff, sniff)... is that Dom? Oh my. My apologies; I thought I'd been doused in a lesser aperitif."

The dialog reads like a bad 80s movie...funny though...especially the orbital fracturing device.

    That's fucked up man...

You can't blame Javon Walker for Darrent Williams getting killed and you can't blame him for getting robbed and assaulted.

Walker is still going through a lot because of the Williams' incident. I think it's kind of good that he's trying to go out and have a good time...but some worthless thugs had to ruin it again...and I'm sure it's going to bring up a lot of bad memories for Javon.

no. Not to be harsh, but this is a guy that had Williams die in his lap. It was bad enough to skip the funeral to party in Las Vegas (true story), but it's even worse to repeat the same crap that got Williams shot in the first place.

Walker didn't deserve to get smashed for being a moron, and Williams didn't deserve to die because he went out to hit the clubs.

At some point though, it comes down to being a stubborn, immature ass.

It's ok, they still have R Curry 6'2 220 and Drew carter 6'3 200 . Not O(NLY are raiders reciever fast but they are hugh.,

Fake pitch out to Mcfadden going to Get 6'3 200 pound Burner Drew Carter behind alot of secondaries. With his size advantage against alot of CBs ,your going to take your chances with him, when you get single coverge. Example James Jett.

    Raiders have some very young Wrs that in a year or two could be special. 1 22 years old Arman Shields 6'1 195 sub 4.4 speed 2 26 year old Drew carter 6'3 200 3. 22 Chaz Scillens 6'4 225 sub 4.4 42 inch vertical. 4. 24 year old Todd Watkins 6'2 190 5. 23 Johathan Holland 6'1 195 6 23 Johnnie lee Higgins 5' 11 185 7 22 Marcel Reese 6'1 230 4.4 something 8 25 Will Buachon 6'3 190(fastest player at Usc that including Reggie Bush)

Could as alot of these guys are going to be gone by start of season. Still James Lofton has some serious athlethes to work with.

    Oh wait...

Shockingly, raiders.com doesn't mention this story. I wonder why.

While this is a fairly serious topic, I was over at profootballtalk.com and came across a pretty funny photoshop. It's the "New Raider's Logo". Evidently I don't have enough posts to post the link. Go to PTF and click on the pic of the day if you want to see it.

In all seriousness, I hope the guy recovers. Broken orbital sounds painful.

That picture is completely tasteless, classless and mean-spirited.

I laughed like a bastard, though.

It's ok, the Raiders have so much depth at WR that he won't even be missed.
