That should be enough for France right? It looked like Honduras could barely generate an attack with 11 people, how will they do it down a man.

First yellow was questionable. He stepped on the leg of opponent though.
The second yellow and PK were 100% right. As much as I dislike the French

Yes!! You are exactly right! As a matter of fact, there are some teams that do this to perfection. You'll see just before the pass 3-4 defenders simultaneously run 5 yards forward leaving the attacker off side and taking the possession.
Of course if the timing is a little off, you're leaving the attacker alone with the goalie.

I agree with the 2nd, I thought the 1st was weak sauce. He didn't maliciously step on Progba. I think the ref felt like he had to issue a card to justify not giving Progba a red by making it seem like Palacios initiated retaliation. It wouldn't have mattered, Honduras is clearly overmatched.

IMO the best move for that second Swiss goal was ref not calling the foul. It's what was supposed to happen, to allow attack to continue. But most of the refs would stop the attack and give the meaningless free kick. I was pleasantly surprised. Swiss deserved that win.

Replay only, I would have said no goal. Good for the technology there

This game should have been much worse than 3... Numerous post shots by France.

Shia LaBeouf has 2 goals for France, I'm happy he got his career together.

First match of the World Cup, Brazil/Croatia, opens with an own goal.

Then today, Argentina/B-H also opens with an own goal.

    English announcers:

1: "this spray is a great idea, I wonder why it hadn't been thought of years ago."

2: "Because it's FIFA, that's why it hadn't been thought of."

Absolutely, the free kick would have ended the game. Not sure who the guy was but he made the correct decision and even better by the Swiss player to get up and continue play instead of whining about it. The goal in stoppage time reminded me of Ole Gunnar Solskajer scoring a stoppage time goal for Man U to rip Bayern Munich's heart out in the Champions League. If I remember correctly Man U scored 2 goals in stoppage time.

I was searching to see what I had posted about Qatar.

This is what I posted last summer.

    It finally came out!

I gotta be honest, I think despite being ahead I think Argentina are in trouble, Bosnia looks to be the better team right now and I think only a matter of time before they tie it up. Of course Argentina has so many skilled players that it only takes one counter or slip by Bosnia and it's 2-0 but the Bosians deserve a goal the way they are playing.

Messi scores! Long time coming, only his second World Cup goal (and he went scoreless in 2010, so this was his first in 8 years).

    2-0 Argentina
