Croatia handing a beat down to Cameroon, I didn't know this but an African guy I work with told that the only reason Cameroon advanced to the playoff is because FIFA gave them 3 points and took 3 points away from Togo as Togo had a player with 2 yellow cards sit on the bench during a game in qualifying.

I am trying to find something about this online.

I did see that Burkina Faso protested against Algeria.

(below is an excerpt of the article)

Last week's match was full of controversy.

Senegalese referee Badara Diatta added on only four minutes of stoppage time after a second half which was continually interrupted due to treatment for the Algeria players.

He then blew the final whistle one minute early even though added time itself had also been interrupted for at least 90 seconds while another player received treatment.

Bougherra himself was lucky to stay on the pitch after a shocking flying tackle during the first half.

The African qualifiers were plagued by controversies over ineligible players and nine matches were forfeited by teams for breaching the rules, including Burkina Faso on one occasion.

He actually did play in the game, but Togo claimed they did not know he was suspended. They beat Cameroon 2-0. I'm confused about the circumstances but Cameroon would have needed to win their last game over Libya whom they trailed but with the win being given to them they only needed a draw.

With the Spain losing they become the 3rd defending champ in the last 4 World Cup's to fail to advance to the KO stage.

Let me rephrase, with the goalie play Mexico is getting right now I think they are going to shut down Croatia and win. When I said chances are they win it was just my opinion, poorly worded I will admit.

    5-1 Portugal over US?......

ya know at the risk of over generalizing, I don't buy the concept of Portugal coming out angry after the first ass whooping they took.....that's an American way of looking at it......to me quite the contrary..if things don't go well for Portugal early, you can count on them being all butt hurt and losing composure........that's to me is the US's chance here, hold them early.........and I think they draw or steal another win. If Portugal/pretty boy score in the first 10 minutes, well that's another story then.

Portugal is going to lose...Seriously people are overhyping the Portuguese...They barely made it to the World Cup. Have a hurt Ronaldo, No Pepe or Contraeo...Team is in disarray.

Yes, they are dangerous INDIVIDUALLY but if the US comes in strong minded and dont park the bus in the Amazan they will have a great shot for a Draw and a good chance for the win.
