Yeah...I'm going to miss him too. Shame he built such a loser there towards the end but no one could ever say he didn't do what he thought was best 100%. He was also so against "conventional" wisdom and the "herd" mentality his whole career/lifetime. Al definitely had no problem telling the media to fuck off...that's for sure. Just Win Baby should be a life mantra!
After finally being able to watch the game against the Eagles, I'm totally on board with this kid. If he can improve his reads at the line, and set his protection better, I can only imagine how good he'd look with the ones.
LOL, I didn't know Simms was fined $7,875 for "pretending to fire a gun" in a TD celebration. What in the world are things coming to? I mean, holy fuck. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/eye-on...-matt-simms-fined-for-six-shooter-celebration
I never disputed that, the Jets brass (supposedly) supports Geno, and obviously they have more experience, knowledge, and have been at every practice and have seen everything he has to offer, so I'm hoping I can trust them if they go with Geno. I just don't see the logic in displacedfans argument. If the Jets truly think Geno gives the best shot at winning, then start him, but don't rule out Simms entirely at the risk of looking like idiots. And in both cases he would have ended up with a loss, and a loss is a loss whether it's Geno at QB or Simms. I'm sure people won't be quiet if our 39th overall pick is a bust and we lose often.
Longtimejetsfan.. No people kill people. Knifes "kill people" I don't see a up roar about them. To take it even one more step...football has killed people to.
Too much bacon kills people. Therefore, you can't nickname your offensive line "the hogs" these days anymore. Do you see how that logically follows?
So here is what will happen.... Geno starts... Simms is backup for week 1 as Sanchez is declared "out" for the game. Geno either rolls the injured ankle, is completely horrible, or has another type of injury... Simms enters game. I believe this is what will happen... the only alternative is Geno plays well... which is fine too. Win win????
Or... Week 1 Sanchez is declared healthy and starts with Geno backing up. Simms is PS eligible , with Hurrell being the odd man out and cut
he now gets to sit behind quinn, who sat in denver behind tebow! feel sorry for him at this point. he won't get a look with the ones.
The Jets arent moving on from Geno after one game no matter what barring an injury. I don't think its that hard to see that the organization doesn't view Simms the same way you are making him to be. Im sure they arent going to let geno play like shit for an extended period of time, but he is not on a short of a leash as u may think. The Jets (seemingly) are committing to Geno and will take the bumps and bruises.
He sat behind Teblow because the coach and gm horse face caved to the right wing pressure to start him.
