Damn I never knew there was a Seinfeld thread. My favorite show by far, think I've seen every epi.

Now that was a great episode. Especially the whole sequence where the "thinking" music plays and we just see Jerry and George sitting around and thinking and then, finally, "IIII'VE GOT IT!!"

This is a great question for this thread: If you were to show an episode to someone who had never seen a single episode of Seinfeld before, and wanted to get them hooked, what would you show?

It's a tough call. Because so many are based on context, I would pick "The Alternate Side".

I'd probably go with the episode about "The Bet".... No matter who you are, that episode will have you rolling on the floor hysterical....

Who will go down as the best character? I'd have to say George. When the show was on it was hard not to like Kramer, but as I've watched the re-runs thru the years, for me it's clearly George.

Elaine was my favorite. I loved when she threw George's hairpiece out the window.

Another thing that was funny about Seinfeld is Jerry and Newman.

As a change of pace from all the Seinfeld love, here are some of the worst plotlines in Seinfeld's storied history:

-Jerry and George's misadventures rescuing Kramer in L.A.
-Elaine has to pretend to date a guy from work to validate making out with him at the office party
-Elaine is bothered by a "sidler" at work
-Elaine's neighbor's alarm clock goes off while he is on vacation
-Jerry buys his dad a Cadillac and the opposite of hilarity ensues
-Elaine throws a fur coat out a window and then has to flirt with Newman
-The gang goes to the Peurto Rican Day Parade and the opposite of hilarity ensues
-Kramer sunbathes with butter and Newman wants to eat him (Kramer's head + turkey's body = the opposite of the type of humor Seinfeld is good at)
-Jerry reunites with his old friend from camp and buys a van from him while George, for some reason, flirts with his cousin
-The gang all get weird jobs with unhilarious consequences (George as a construction worker, etc.)
-Elaine gets the gang together in a closet so she can get good Chinese food
-George finds a doll that looks just like his mother

The list goes on. Got any other plotlines that didn't live up to the show's reputation?

Come on, Fragile Frankie Merman was great. The stupid part of that episiode was Kramer and his quest to stop mail being delivered to him.

George: "Why would I clean car windows? I have a job! Did you see a squeegee? Well, heh, you're not going to make a dime without a squeegee!"

"Kramer, these reports you handed in. It's almost as if you've had no business training of any kind. I don't know what this is supposed to be."

Crazy Joe Devola: Are you still afraid of clowns?
    Kramer: ... yes
