Way too much evidence of poor coaching. Slow starts, sloppy, no discipline or accountability, questionable game plans... If this how the rest of the season goes without improvement, can this whole staff and go hard for Sean Payton. Lot of games left for change and growth, but so far this CS continues to be underwhelming
He’s not even a good D coordinator. His defenses are awful and that’s his supposed specialty. His defense has now given up 21+ in 18 of the last 19 games now.
Ok let me clarify. Saleh was an above average coordinator, that had a great front line. That made him look a lot better.
And to think that the other rookie coach from SF is now 3-0 after beating the Bills. Saleh cannot coach a whole team. He's more of a specialist. He's in over his head.
I mean at least Gase could scheme a decent opening drive in most games, granted he and his pudgy protege were bereft of anything after that. Meanwhile Mr PVO masquerading as a HC never has either side of the ball ready to go in a way that they actually look prepared specifically for their opponent...
It's frustrating because I want to believe. I want to believe In the "plan". I want to be patient. ..but, fucking c'mon. A lot of this Is the same fucking thing that happens to this team REGARDLESS of the HC. The last time we actually looked like a professional team was when Rex was here. Hire his ass back, I'm tired of watching this pathetic bullshit. The talent has been improved 10 fold.. No fucking excuses right now. Fuck. This. Team.
Also... Quinnen Williams telling the coaching staff they were dumb for blitzing there... Getting that worked up. You don't see that unless you are seeing things In this defense that shouldn't be, on a consistent basis. That man blew up on the sideline. People don't usually just combust like that over one play. Seems like things have been building up.
In his 17 games as HC, how many times have the Jets started a game, prepared to beat their opposing team. Where they got out to a fast start offensively, or stopped a team defensively? How many times has anyone felt good, after the 1st quarter? To me, that says it all. The Jets game plan always seems the same, & may be the easiest team for opposing teams to gameplan.
These players are so gung-ho to sign with the Jets because of Robert Saleh but, when the game clock starts they are just ho-hum. Their passion for this coach doesn't translate to the field.
Any adjustments, halftime or otherwise. But... with all gas, no brake, & 60%, etc, ad nauseum... do the players really need adjustments, when their HC is arming them with catchy cliches?
They said on the broadcast that Jets have fallen behind at some point in 22 straight games. Almost a season and a half of games since the Jets took the lead first in a game and held it. Mind numbing futility by this franchise.
This was a very disappointing performance by the entire CS. Team is going to have to get better fast or seats will start to get warm.
